Software Development Engineer II - Full-Stack

Expedia Technology teams partner with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.

The Servicing team is responsible for enhancing the post-booking path for our travelers across different lines of business such as lodging, flights, etc.

As a key contributor on this team, you will leverage your technical expertise and passion for innovation to design and implement servicing components that can be shared across LOB’s. Your work will directly impact millions of travelers worldwide by helping them modify their bookings.

In this role, you will:

• Architect and develop reusable components for self-servicing flows, delivering reliable, scalable solutions.

• Work closely with cross-functional partners—including product, design, and content —to craft seamless, intuitive interfaces.

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.

• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1+ years of professional experience in software development.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent related professional experience.

• Proficiency as a full-stack engineer in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Java/Kotlin, and GraphQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

• Hands-on experience with observability tools (monitoring, alerting, logging), such as Datadog.

• Experience taking end-to-end ownership of features, from design and development to deployment and iteration.

• Knowledge of gRPC.

• Demonstrated commitment to accessible and user-friendly design.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proactive approach to shared technical decisions.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $112,000.00 to $156,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $179,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
