DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
Operates machines and production equipment in accordance with quality, safety, and productivity requirements in a manufacturing environment, with direct guidance. The role supports Cummins’ commitment to safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
- Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards.
- Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
- Comply with Cummins HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Promote interdependence by looking out for the safety of others.
- Correct hazards within scope of control and capability.
- Understand environmental impacts of work and minimize negative effects.
- Actively participate in required HSE training.
Quality
- Follow all standard work instructions, process documentation, and quality procedures.
- Perform quality inspections and identify non-conforming materials.
- Raise quality issues to minimize cost and quality risks.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards across operations.
Delivery & Productivity
- Operate manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble products to meet customer requirements.
- Achieve production targets and work at required cycle times or engineering standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and disciplined shop floor, including housekeeping and machine cleaning.
- Perform planned operator care and basic maintenance activities.
- Remain flexible to perform additional duties and work in rotational shifts as required.
- Collaborate with peers, skilled trades, and support teams to identify and address equipment issues.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
- Communicate effectively with team members and support functions.
- Participate in training and personal development aligned with business needs.
- Contribute to initiatives that improve safety, quality, process efficiency, material flow, and employee development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior welding experience is preferred.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts.
- Ability to maintain discipline and 5S standards on the shop floor.
