We are looking for a self-motivated, confident and passionate contributor to help lead a collaborative team who are solving complex problems that make people's lives safer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for merging solutions with flight operations, crew training and avionics design during all phases of developmental work in support of certification of HGS products.
As the Certification Compliance Project Manager you will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of operational aspects including training programs required for HGS products. This includes being the liaison between regulatory authorities, program management and project management teams, evaluating detailed flight characteristics of the aircraft in order to establish training guidelines for FAA approval, leading preparation of HGS Master Minimum Equipment List requirements for aircraft dispatch in support of safety and efficient operations for our customers, and monitoring and assessing project issues imposed by certification and operator requirements and training requirements. In this capacity, the Principal Certification Engineer will prepare recommendations for compliance to Federal regulations or propose special crew training requirements or procedures when needed, participates in the development of FAA approved Flight Manuals and represent HGS Certification in flight tests activities leading to supplemental type certification of HGS products.
What You Will Do:
Develop project plans for HGS programs, and recommends specific training program standards to be used for the training of flight crews or FAA inspectors receiving HGS training for approval.
Determine safe limits of allowable aircraft maneuvers based on flight test and review of flight test results to mitigate possible unsafe characteristics of the aircraft or operation using HGS equipment.
Review, analyze and evaluate problem areas and initiate actions to correct technical deficiencies associated with the operation and pilot training programs.
Review and present plans and reports relating to operations and training certification strategy depicting progress, and results.
Key responsibilities include customer training and support for operational improvements that minimize changes to existing operational approvals.
Provides a conduit with industry working groups and FAA AEG, Type Certification and Flight Test Groups advancing flight technical and training solutions as part of the HGS product roadmap.
Specific duties include flight test technical activities, marketing support and executive consultation and guidance.
Supports inquiries from internal and external customers alike. As subject matter expert this position includes domestic and international travel in support of Company engagements as a recognized focal for advanced technologies.
Regular engagement with regulatory authorities is central to this role, the individual prepares draft NPRM responses and responds to foreign and domestic certification authorities on rule making impacts changes that impact low visibility operations.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Experience in commercial or military avionics display systems, including flight experience in support of optimized certification and training strategies.
FAA Part 91/91K/121/135/141 operations and training experience
Certification Flight Test support experience
FAA DER/Test Pilot credentials or qualifications to become FAA DER
Commercial Pilot Rating, ATP, Operational Evaluation/Suitability Expert, Pilot in Command, Check Airman with HGS HUD, EFVS, SVS and Headworn technology experience.
Requires in-depth knowledge of Air Carrier Flight Training procedures in Commercial and Business Regional aviation.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Solid knowledge of HUD and EFVS flight operations, development of avionic equipment, and the relationships between all functional disciplines
Ability to work with Program Managers, Certification Managers, Engineering Managers to develop program execution plans for high complexity aviation projects is highly desired
Supports and influences the design, development and validation of HGS, EFVS, SVS, CVS products for all weather aircraft operations.
Specialized experience with airline training programs and initial/recurrent crew training is highly valued. Recent experience with ground school, training devices and training platforms for both instructor lead and computer-based training is required.
Strong technical understanding of HGS operational concepts along with how the product benefits the airline industry is instrumental to the success of this position.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
