Job DescriptionYour Role:
As the Alternative Investment Compensation Manager, you'll manage global incentive programs for our Alternative Investment teams. You will collaborate closely with Investment Executives and HR Business Partners, influencing and shaping comprehensive compensation programs, including base salary, bonus, and long-term incentives. Your exceptional relationship-building skills and proven credibility will be pivotal in driving the success of the business.
You'll be an integral part of the Global Compensation team, where your impact goes beyond just Alternative compensation. Your role will actively contribute to the successful execution of compensation plans for traditional investment strategies.
You will be responsible for:
- Manage compensation programs for investment teams. Understand local markets and practices. Work with executives, business management and HR Business Partners.
- Collaborate with business leaders in building out our carried interest infrastructure through streamlined processes and robust analytics.
- Partner with Legal, Tax and Finance to deliver end to end processes for carried interest and other Investment compensation programs.
- Manage relationship with third-party administrator, EWM, to deliver high quality employee experiences.
- Conduct compensation analyses for compensation components, including base salary, bonus and long-term incentive plans. Conduct modeling of compensation plans to determine financial and competitiveness impact.
- Lead quarterly investment incentive accrual process, working closely with the Finance and Investment Performance Oversight functions.
- Perform competitive analyses for hiring and retention activities for senior Investment professionals.
- Support and work with the HR Business Partners to influence business management throughout the annual compensation planning cycle to ensure outcomes support pay-for-performance.
- Work directly with Compensation team members supporting traditional Investment teams.
- Share information, knowledge and best practices with global Compensation colleagues.
- Participate in the submission of data to a variety of surveys on compensation elements.
- Proactively ensure, through normal course of work (audits, quality control, SOX, etc.), that Compensation function achieves operational excellence.
- Perform other duties and projects as requested by manager.
- Some travel required.
The experience you bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 7+ years of Compensation experience, with specific experience with investment incentive plans
- Previous experience in financial services (asset management), required
- Strong consulting skills required
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Ability to work independently; determine necessary analyses, conduct and/or manage analyses and make plan design recommendations; demonstrated project management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence business leaders at all levels
- Ability to work in a global team environment; work well with others inside and outside the company

The salary range for this position in New York City is $120,000 to $150,000/year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location.
