The successful candidate will lead the Capital Risk Management team accountable for review of the Firm's and U.S. Banks' capital policies, capital framework and associated metrics, stress testing and recovery and resolution planning capital components. They will drive continuous improvement in how capital risk is assessed, communicated, and challenged, partnering closely with Finance, Treasury, and first line Capital teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide second line oversight of internal and regulatory capital stress testing, including review of frameworks, key assumptions, sensitivities, and results
  • Oversee independent review of capital considerations within Recovery and Resolution Planning, including assessing recovery actions under stress
  • Establish and maintain a robust second line monitoring framework for key capital utilization metrics, identifying emerging risks and themes
  • Prepare clear, concise materials and responses to information requests from senior management and regulatory authorities
  • Represent Capital Risk Management in senior governance forums and regulatory interactions, contributing to examinations, ongoing supervisory dialogue, and executive-level materials
  • Stay abreast of global regulatory capital rules and relevant business developments
  • Lead a team of capital risk professionals, enhancing the consistency, rigor, and scalability of the capital second line of defense function

Experience Required:

  • Deep experience in regulatory capital, capital planning, and/or stress testing within a large, complex financial institution
  • Strong understanding of U.S. regulatory capital rules, Basel frameworks, and capital governance expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a second line of defense role, providing independent and credible challenge while partnering constructively with first line teams
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to engage senior management, governance committees, and regulators
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex capital metrics, stress testing results, and scenarios and translate them into clear risk insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing management- and regulator-facing materials
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to think strategically, manage complex projects and competing priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a similarly complex financial institution
