Position Summary: 

 

As the Training & Learning Manager, you’ll shape the learning culture across our facility—building technical competency, leadership capability, and people engagement that powers outstanding performance. You will design and deploy a modern, outcomes‑driven learning ecosystem grounded in adult learning principles and Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE), spanning Safety, Quality, Technical, Job Instruction, and Continuous Improvement training.

In close partnership with every department, you’ll diagnose capability needs, craft blended learning paths, and implement world‑class systems and job aids that make learning stick and performance visible. From onboarding to upskilling, you’ll elevate team confidence and consistency, enabling first‑time‑right quality, excellent service, and progress toward zero waste. Key Responsibilities:   

 

  • Responsible for the deployment of market based standardized onboarding for Managers, middle management and all operator & mechanic roles, which includes leadership, functional, NCE/TPM and technical competencies; that follow business priorities in alignment with the factory operational master plan (OMP).
  • Responsible for driving site training efforts including needs assessments, aligning with Management to gain understanding of specific situations requiring employee or group improvement, developing an ongoing onboarding, competence management and implementation plan.
  • Maintain, recommend learning content and equipment requirements within a Technical Training Center in alignment with the market strategy and the factory OMP.
  • Roll out and management of a digital competence management platform (Poka, Power BI, iLearn and other solutions) and development of a strategy for a standard work for front-line leaders aligned with the market.
  • Prepare and communicate E&T rollout plans for the factory including selection of key activities, priorities for rollout, scope (lines, area etc.) and glidepath for results.
  • Responsible for E&T Standards Deployment framework for execution and maturity assessment.
  • Develops and organizes a program of practical and technical instruction, develops a teaching outline and determines adult learning instructional methods that can be done timely
  • Develops and maintains record keeping system that provides relevant information concerning training content, activities, attendance and evaluation
  • Organizes, updates and maintains Job Instruction Training (JIT) for all hourly jobs inclusive of JIT manual, training outlines and qualification checklists for all jobs
  • Work in conjunction with Operations and Engineering/Maintenance Managers to develop and update Development Plan for practical and theory, instruction and demonstration.
  • Develop and maintain a qualification checklist for all employees.
  • Develop and maintain training/onboarding calendars and subjects involved
  • Selects or develops teaching aids to assist student’s learning and retention of material, using various adult learning techniques. Selects or develops testing and evaluation procedures to be used at completion of training
  • Monitor and coordinate ongoing recommended learning strategies and plans for the Factory aligned with NCE principles.
  • Identifies key trainings in plant and conducts Train-the-Trainer classes as well as assist in the delivery of materials to the hourly and salaried workforce
  • Develops and maintains online training calendar and library links to site plant training materials and procedures
  • Maintain, develop and coordinate Supervisory and Management Development Courses
  • Works with Factory Manager and other department managers in planning training needs
  • Manages and plans factory training budget
  • Support development of Manufacturing Excellence methodologies, strategy, competencies and routines; mainly on the areas of Education & Training and Leadership development.
  • Assist Managers in various training activities not limited to main duties and responsibilities

 

Experience & Education Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, HR Development, Training, or a related field; a nationally recognized training certification or significant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in training and development
  • Minimum of 3 years in a leadership, supervisory, or managerial role
  • Experience in related industrial environments, such as production or manufacturing operations a plus
  • Proven experience in creating and editing learning or instructional materials required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Strong track record of adhering to and enforcing SOPs in an operational environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in both the strategic and practical aspects of Training & Learning

    • Strong project and program management experience, with the ability to drive initiatives from concept to execution.
    • Proven ability to drive major initiatives within a complex organizational environment
    • Experience in competency development within a multicultural organization
    • Knowledge management experience
    • Successful track record in leading high‑performing teams and departments
    • Solid business acumen, including understanding of business drivers, long‑term strategies, and performance metrics
    • Strong understanding of change management principles
    • Knowledge of modern competency‑building strategies and learning science
    • Familiarity with a wide range of competence‑building approaches and technologies, and how to apply them effectively
    • Awareness of industry best practices through external networks

The approximate pay range for this position is $115,000.00 to $140,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
