DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

Operates machines and production equipment in accordance with quality, safety, and productivity requirements in a manufacturing environment, with direct guidance. The role supports Cummins’ commitment to safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards.
  • Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards.
  • Comply with Cummins HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Promote interdependence by looking out for the safety of others.
  • Correct hazards within scope of control and capability.
  • Understand environmental impacts of work and minimize negative effects.
  • Actively participate in required HSE training.

Quality

  • Follow all standard work instructions, process documentation, and quality procedures.
  • Perform quality inspections and identify non-conforming materials.
  • Raise quality issues to minimize cost and quality risks.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards across operations.

Delivery & Productivity

  • Operate manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble products to meet customer requirements.
  • Achieve production targets and work at required cycle times or engineering standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and disciplined shop floor, including housekeeping and machine cleaning.
  • Perform planned operator care and basic maintenance activities.
  • Remain flexible to perform additional duties and work in rotational shifts as required.
  • Collaborate with peers, skilled trades, and support teams to identify and address equipment issues.

Teamwork & Continuous Improvement

  • Communicate effectively with team members and support functions.
  • Participate in training and personal development aligned with business needs.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve safety, quality, process efficiency, material flow, and employee development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior welding experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts.
  • Ability to maintain discipline and 5S standards on the shop floor.

  • This position may require licensing or authorization for compliance with export control or sanctions regulations.
