Job Description: Software Development Engineer III (Back-End)

Introduction to the Team:

Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience using modern languages such as Java and/or Kotlin

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience

• Strong problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and distributed applications

• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts, data structures, algorithms, and test-driven development

• Hands-on experience with AWS services

• Knowledge of No-SQL databases and core cloud computing concepts

• Working knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Passionate about the quality of work delivered

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Java, Scala, and Kotlin in production environments

• Experience with AWS-based architectures including services such as Kafka, S3, Lambda, and Docker

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog

• Solid understanding of performance and scalability techniques including load balancing, caching, and database partitioning

• Demonstrated ability to develop and support large, internet-scale software systems

• Sound understanding of client-side optimization best practices
