Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Engineering Support to Operations (HSE ESTO) is seeking an engineering intern to join the Structures team supporting the production of commercial and military hot section rotating and airfoil hardware.
HSE ESTO Structures provides an environment that fosters development of engineering fundamentals with knowledge development of Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics and Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS) modeling, 3D Modeling, as well as good engineering judgment.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for quality non-conformance structural analysis assessments of commercial & military jet engine components.
- Participate in cross-discipline integrated product teams to provide design solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Develop on structural analysis solutions when historical solutions are not available or applicable.
- Support proactive initiatives to improve producibility and reduce the cost of poor quality .

Qualifications You Must Have
- Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) concepts and software.
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD).
- Experience with software/computer programming.
- Internship experience with Pratt & Whitney, RTX, or within the aerospace industry
- Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
