DESCRIPTION

Provide global or regional functional excellence leadership and direction for service training. Define, develop, and implement global and regional service training strategy and standards. Ensure appropriate resources are deployed efficiently and effectively to develop the infrastructure necessary for training delivery. Develop appropriate resource plans to align the function with global, regional and line-of-business strategic objectives, Value Package Introduction schedules, and customer service excellence initiatives. Liaise with other business unit counterparts to leverage strategy, tools and processes to drive a consistent output to Cummins channel partners and customers. Develop and maintain key metrics for the functions deliverables. Champion continuous improvement initiatives with an emphasis of Six Sigma methodology on functional improvements that reduce cost, complexity, and improve skills development. Ensure delivery of all service training functional deliverables for new product introduction. Promote channel readiness through technician skills development to meet product support requirements. Instruct by delivering training that engages and adjusts to individual and group needs resulting in knowledge, skills and abilities that can be applied on the job. Analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional content using Cummins methodologies and technologies to maximize learning and meet organizational effectiveness. Evaluate success indicators by using appropriate collection methods and analyzing the results to validate content effectiveness as compared to the learning objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, or related field (employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, or related field) and 5 years of experience as a Technical Trainer, Technical or Service Engineer, or related position. Experience to include: Develop service training strategy; Develop resource plans; Value Package Introduction; Maintain key metrics for deliverables; Continuous improvement initiatives; Six Sigma methodology; New product introduction; Channel readiness; Design and develop instructional content; Evaluate success indicators to validate content effectiveness.
