Manages a team of intermediate or experienced professionals in Structural Engineering. Supervises and technically guide the team to perform detailed stress analysis of structural components for Aircraft Cargo Products using Classical Analysis and Finite Element Method. Ensures that work assigned meets established engineering and manufacturing schedules and business objectives and satisfies customer requirements. The candidate shall have a strong background in structural engineering, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and manage team/project metrics.
Position: Manager - Engineering (M4)
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a moderately sized team of structural engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
Oversee the Stress analysis, Design change recommendation for Cargo systems ensuring compliance with Aircraft industry standards and codes
Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design, Drafting, Manufacturing, Operations and project management
Ensure quality control and quality assurance processes are in place and followed
Stay up-to-date with industry developments, advancements, and emerging technologies
Develop and maintain customer and all stakeholder relationships, identifying new business opportunities
Manage and resolve technical issues, conflicts, and changes in project scope.
Drive continuous improvement in products & processes and implement them. Good knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma tools and should be able to apply those in regular work
Responsible for overseeing the competency mapping and development for the team; develop & implement technical training plans and modules.
Willingness to work in extremely aggressive schedules, while still not neglecting the value of attention to details and subsequently delivering high quality work to the customers.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering. Master’s degree in Mechanical design is desired
Total 12+ years of relevant experience with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role
Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, materials, and software (e.g., ANSYS).
Proficient in the fundamentals of solid mechanics, machine design etc. Good understanding of structural load paths and structural response to load.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines.
Good analytical skills
Knowledge on Aircraft structural part design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
