Investments Data Layer (IDL) Technology Team

 

Job Summary

 

We’re a leading independent investment management firm seeking a globally minded Data Engineer to develop and innovate with our IDL Technology team.  

In this role, you would be developing, constructing, testing and maintaining architectures such as databases and large-scale data repository/processing systems.

Do you love your work with building data pipelines to pull together information from different source systems; integrating, consolidating and cleansing data; and structuring it for use in individual analytics applications? Key Responsibilities / Duties

  • Work directly with the global business partners and stakeholders to understand data

  • Work within a team of software developers and business analysts focused to deliver technical solutions to business partners

  • Complete all tasks related to technical analysis, building and unit testing, quality assurance, system test and implementation in accordance with the Agile working model.

  • Conform to documentation, coding and quality standards as defined.

  • Understand client business and make recommendations and technology suggestions to solve problems and improve efficiency.

  • Understand and propose architecture of applications in order to effectively troubleshoot problems and develop more efficient production processes

  • Be prepared to carry out business analysis tasks to ensure that the development/change meets user requirements and expectations

  • Should be willing to adopt Open source technologies

  • Should be willing to Upskill and guide junior members in the team

  • Prepare for and support user acceptance testing

  • Prepare all necessary documentation and processes to enable ongoing support of the systems

  • Handle escalations from the support teams

  • Should carry the on-call phone on a rotation basis

WORK EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE: 

  • 4-8 years of Technology experience with working with large databases and repositories

  • Very strong SQL/Database/Data warehousing fundamentals

  • Good hands on experience on Python

  • At least 3 years of working with AWS (S3, lambda, Glue, etc.), Snowflake, DBT and Airflow.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Normal office environment with a little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures 

  • The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary

  • Work hours will be from 11:30AM to 8:30 PM IST and may include evenings and/or weekends

  • Should carry the on-call phone on a rotation basis
