UnspecifiedRockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Principal Engineer, Software Engineering in Melbourne, FL. Two to three trips per year to one or more of the following: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Seattle, Washington, and Bangalore, India will be required.

What YOU will do
- Design and implement build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
- Design, develop, document and design control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determine end-user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisitions.
- Innovate, design, develop and implement technologies, components, subsystems, machines, tools and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.
- Ensure hardware and software standards are met.
- Ensure novel ideas and implementation are captures and protected using applications IP process and tools.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and at least eight years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the Avionics Industry. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field and at least five years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the Avionics Industry would be acceptable.
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience with: the full lifecycle software development process (software requirements, design, implementation, and verification).
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience with: safety-critical, real-time, embedded software using some of the following: C, C++, GreenHills Multi IDE, Wind River Workbench, Code Composer Studio, Enterprise Architect (EA).
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience with: developing software that are compliant to RTCA DO-178, RTCA D0-330, RTCA DO-332.
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience leading a software team in both Agile and waterfall development methods.
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience with: software configuration using ClearCase, Subversion, Git, ClearQuest, DOORS and/or JAMA.
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience with: the Stages of Involvement (SOIs) audits defined by the Federal Aviation Administration.

includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range is $ $145,766.00 to $200,000.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
