Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to support Finance transformation initiatives, with a strong emphasis on deep knowledge of enterprise application systems and hands-on end-to-end (E2E) business User Acceptance Testing (UAT). This role is focused on understanding how Finance applications work across the landscape—ERP, upstream/downstream integrations, data flows, and reporting—and partnering with Finance stakeholders and Engineering teams to validate that releases perform correctly in real business scenarios.
The position plays a key contributing role in Finance UAT across Autodesk’s SAP Finance landscape, helping ensure system changes meet business outcomes, internal controls, and compliance standards. While this role does not own the overall UAT program, it is critical to planning test coverage, executing E2E scenarios, identifying defects early, and driving resolution through clear evidence and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop strong functional and technical understanding of Autodesk’s Finance application ecosystem, primarily SAP Finance, including key integrations, master data dependencies, and reporting outputs
Perform impact analysis for changes across E2E Finance flows (e.g., Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, Revenue, Billing, Payments, Intercompany), identifying affected systems, interfaces, controls, and downstream consumers
Partner with Engineering, Product, and Finance stakeholders to understand intended changes and translate them into test coverage and release readiness criteria (entry/exit)
Support environment and data readiness for UAT (test data setup, prerequisite configuration, reference data, and access), coordinating with relevant teams
Review release notes, design artifacts, and technical details (integration mappings, interface specs, data transformations) to anticipate testing risks and edge cases
Design, build, and execute E2E UAT scenarios that reflect real business operations and validate cross-system behavior—from upstream transaction creation through ERP postings and downstream reporting/analytics
Create and maintain UAT test cases, scripts, and evidence that are auditable and traceable to business outcomes and control requirements
Validate accounting impact and system behavior including postings, document flow, tax/FX, revenue recognition outcomes, period-end processing, and management reporting outputs as applicable
Execute both positive and negative tests, including boundary conditions and integration failure scenarios (e.g., interface errors, timing issues, data quality breaks)
Log defects with clear reproduction steps, screenshots/logs, expected vs. actual results, and business impact; partner with Engineering teams through triage, fix validation, and regression testing
Participate in select PST-hour meetings during testing cycles (handoffs, triage, status) to improve collaboration and reduce cycle time
Contribute to continuous improvement of Finance UAT processes, tooling, templates, and test repositories
Ensure testing aligns with internal control expectations (including SOX-relevant processes), documenting evidence and outcomes required for audit readiness
Identify and communicate risks related to testing gaps, control impacts, or deferred scope; recommend mitigation and retest plans
Support sign-off readiness by summarizing test results, open defects, residual risk, and recommended go/no-go considerations
Work closely with Finance stakeholders to validate business scenarios, confirm expected outcomes, and ensure UAT reflects operational reality
Coordinate with US-based testing leads, Project Managers, and global teams on schedules, handoffs, and execution status
Explain system behavior and testing findings in clear business terms, helping stakeholders make informed release decisions
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, CMA, or relevant QA/testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB) are preferred
8–10+ years of experience working with enterprise application systems supporting Finance processes (ERP and integrated systems), with significant hands-on involvement in business UAT
Strong hands-on experience with SAP Finance modules and processes; experience with SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) and Management Reporting (MR) is highly desirable
Proven experience designing and executing E2E test scenarios across multiple systems and integrations (APIs, middleware, batch interfaces), including defect triage and regression testing
Should have experience managing UAT'S pertaining to major system upgrades, roadmap enhancements and new application/entity rollouts
Experience working in global, cross-functional teams and collaborating effectively across time zones
Strong understanding of Finance processes and accounting concepts, with the ability to validate ERP postings and reporting outputs
