The Missile Assembly and Disassembly Technical Assistance (TA) Lead is the principal authority for support and maintenance of the Kuwait PATRIOT Missile Assembly Disassemble Facility (MADF). The MADF TA Lead will provide onsite Patriot missile technical support to Kuwait Air Defense (KAD) personnel responsible for processing/testing/repairing of Patriot PAC-2 missiles and subassemblies at the KU MADF to maximize KAD readiness. The MADF TA Lead will aid and advise KAD with the oversight of the facility operations and assist as required with workflow and daily operational needs in relation to PAC-2 missile and subassembly test, assembly, repair, and disassembly based upon USG policy and guidelines (PA Plan, CM Plan, Canning/Decanning, Field Support Plan, and 9001 checklist). This activity will include advising on safety and best practices, participating as a team member in any assessments of the facility and equipment, assisting with documentation of issues and processes, and developing resolutions for any issues found. The MADF TA Lead will advise and assist KAD with coordination of administrative requirements and purchases as required. The MADF TA Lead will aid and advise the KAD personnel to ensure all manuals, spares, test equipment and manpower are in place to support on-going Patriot PAC-2 missile testing, assembly, and disassembly.
The MADF TA Lead will advise and assist with movements of assets and equipment management in the storage areas and the facility and will assist and make recommendations concerning the usability of chemicals in supply based on the manufacturer’s expiration date.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of daily operations in a Patriot Missile Facility (PMF) or a Missile Assembly and Disassembly Facility (MADF)
Must possess the “hands on” ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and calibrate all PMF or MADF equipment
Knowledgeable of general manufacturing processes with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience interpreting engineering requirements from product data models, drawings, parts lists and specifications
Able to demonstrate a high level of mechanical hands-on abilities to perform or assist in missile assembly and test along with repairing non-operating tools and equipment
Strong hands-on assembly / disassembly / troubleshooting skills of mechanical, electrical, industrial and/or home equipment and products
Must possess the “hands on” ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all patriot missile malfunctions
Required Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field and minimum of five (5) years’ experience at a PMF or MADF, or a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Associates degree or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Requires expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
May have deep knowledge of project management. Advanced knowledge of related disciplines within work area and ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs or systems.
