Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Staff Chief Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
* Responsible for controlling the PLT technical baseline through change board control. Coordinates between Supplier Management Teams (SMTs) and Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) teams to facilitate system requirements development, modeling and analysis, hardware/software design, verification, validation, and integration activities across elements contributing to design and delivery.

Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Maintains cognizance over technical activities within the AVE Segment and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company.

Continually coordinates with the program’s systems engineering and program integration teams’ leadership to ensure the execution of program statement of work.

Extensive customer, and external stakeholder interfacing and some travel will be required.

Work collaboratively and with influence to gain commitment and performance from all organizations including suppliers, the AVE Segment and Program customers, Business Operations and Contracts, System Design, Integration and Test as needed to drive required business outcomes.

Serves in an authoritative capacity hosting Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) and a board member on the AVE Engineering Review Board (AERB).

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications: -
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 14 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 12 years of experience; or PhD with 10 years of experience.

Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
-
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
-
10+ years of experience leading a technical team to successful product development and delivery.
-
Technical breadth in the Requirements Allocation, Configuration Management, Command & Control Design, Network Analysis, Subsystems Design and a broad knowledge of end-to-end program lifecycle.

Must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Strong partnership/collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to partner cross-IPT/cross-discipline within a team.

Strong program technical leadership skills.
-
Strong program execution skills; Demonstrated ability to meet program technical, cost, and schedule milestones.

Ability to integrate, engage, and lead team to perform at top level of performance.

Ability to leverage experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to the team.

Be able and willing to travel up to 20% as a part of the role.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Master’s Degree in STEM
-
Expert knowledge of Vehicle Product development designs including structures, electronics/payloads, communications, materials, subsystems, and Integration and Testing
-
5+ years of experience with technical / vehicle engineering development leadership for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) or related missile-based activities
-
Experience with nuclear command and control ground and launch systems
-
Experience with reentry systems and mission payloads
-
Experience with flight test vehicles and/or automated test systems
-
Experience managing a technical baseline with significant subcontractor content
-
Experience with the Air Force/Department of Energy Project Officers Group (POG) meetings and interfacing with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), Sandia National Laboratory (SNL), and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) industry partners
-
Experience with Specialty Engineering support such as Cyber, Nuclear Surety, and Nuclear Hardness & Survivability related design compliance to requirements
Salary Range: $158,200 - $237,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
