Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) has been a technology development and manufacturing leader of infrared systems for over 70 years, and it continues to be one of the industry stakeholders in the production of high-tech vision products for a variety of space, tactical and commercial applications. RVS is seeking an experienced Program Quality Engineer to implement and develop quality engineering and customer quality flow-down requirements throughout proposal and program life cycle in our Focal Plan Operations factory located in Goleta, CA.
This is an onsite position.
What You Will Do
- Create or tailor existing quality planning to administer customer and internal quality requirements
- Implement Quality Engineering responsibilities as a member of a program integrated product team (IPT)
- Ensure programmatic and technical risks are identified, contained, and managed throughout each phase of business pursuit and program implementation
- Ensure Quality Engineering engagement in program development, design, test requirements and verification, including the transition of design to production
- Lead multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on 8D, Six Sigma, Lean practices and other critical thinking improvement methods and resources
- Manage the completion of Internal First Article Inspections (FAI’s)
- Guide business and program performance utilizing predictive and proactive measures and metrics
- Maintain positive relationships with program administration, cross-functional program stakeholders, suppliers, customers, and government representatives.
Qualification You Must Have
- Typically requires bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Quality, Engineering or Operations with working knowledge of business strategic planning and proposal, engineering development, material and service acquisition, production, test, product acceptance and post-delivery support.
- Working experience with Quality Management Systems such as: IS0 9001, AS9100.
- Working experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology, systems, and resources.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Working knowledge of Industry and Government Quality Requirements and Standards.
- Infrared industry, semiconductor processing or DoD industry experience.
- Past or present regular member or chair of Material and Failure non-conformance review boards (MRB/FRB).
- Experience in developing or a member of risk & opportunity management, assessment, mitigation, and capture.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Certification.
- Experience in Earned Value Management (EVMS) and Cost Account Management (CAM) including Bases of Estimation (BOE).
- Experience with statistical and metrics software (e.g., Tableau, Minitab).
- Experience with factory systems and software (e.g., SAP, Windchill).
- Knowledge and experience with Systems or Reliability Engineering.
- Working experience in predictive and proactive measures, metrics assessments, and supporting actions to improve performance or mitigate problems.
- The ability to lead, support, and mentor others in routine settings and difficult situations.
- Ability to collaborate with program team members to develop practical solutions to complex problems.
- Thorough written and verbal presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
