Women@Ciena is our Inclusivity Network focused on breaking down barriers that exist for women and empower their voice in our workforce and our community.
To achieve this, our group operates around three main pillars:
Learning & Development – Women@Ciena provides opportunities to match the participants’ interests with current and new learning programs at Ciena that enable their professional and personal development.
Networking – This pillar creates spaces to connect with women and allies at Ciena and our industry. This helps members expand their networks, build their sense of belonging to the wider community and to learn best practices from each other.
Community Outreach - The objective of this pillar is to serve our community and empower women, promoting STEM and help close the gender gap in our industry.
2020 Women on Boards Winning “W” Company
Ciena continues to be listed as a 2020 Women on Boards Winning “W” Company. Ciena received this recognition for its commitment to maintaining a gender diverse board of directors since 2016 for having 20% or more of board seats held by female directors.
The 2020 Women on Boards campaign goal is to increase the representation of women on boards to 20% by 2020. Focused on educating all people on the importance of this issue, the campaign aims to redefine what is successful corporate governance and gender diversity standards and to create a cultural imperative for corporate action.
