Meet The Speakers

Eman Elsabban
Eman Elsabban
SRE - Compute Infrastructure Platform Experience

Eman is a site reliability engineer on the Compute Infrastructure Platform Experience Team at Yelp. She joined Yelp in August 2022. Prior to joining Yelp, she received her Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto. Eman is based in Toronto and enjoys going for walks and playing sports in her free time.

Rob Johnson
Rob Johnson
Software Engineer

Rob is a software engineer and group technical lead who works on Yelp's Compute Platform that developers use to build, deploy, and run their software in production. He works closely with engineering leaders across the company to ensure that Yelp's infrastructure is delivering the most important requirements for the business and drives a technical roadmap that provides an industry-leading experience for the developers who use it every day. He has been at Yelp for eight years, working as a site reliability and software engineer.

Jason Perrin
Jason Perrin
Software Engineer, Observability Platform

Jason has been a site reliability engineer at Yelp for the past 5.5 years. He has primarily worked on improving the Slack bot tooling around incident response within the company and providing the latest Ubuntu OS release for other teams to use in their kubernetes services and EC2 instances. He also loves removing tech debt with tenacity wherever possible. On weekends (when not on call anyway), Jason likes to make pottery on the wheel, go on bike rides, and eat burritos.

Rakhi Salanke
Rakhi Salanke
Engineering Manager, Database

Rakhi is an engineering manager for the Database Reliability Engineering team at Yelp. She has been with Yelp for four + years, and has worked extensively with SQL databases and infrastructure. She has been leading Awesome Women in Engineering’s Public Speaking space for three years. Prior to joining Yelp, Rakhi was a database engineer working for Electronic Arts Inc. Rakhi is a mom to 2 little ones and loves cooking and gardening.
