Szymon Piądłowski
Chief Architect at Visa

Szymon has 18 years of experience in the Banking, Finance, Payments, and Insurance sectors, including a two-year break to explore Pharma solutions. Since 2010, he has focused on data processing and low latency, highly available solutions for both International Banks and Polish financial institutions within the Big Data sphere, with most of these solutions being used for Data Science purposes and Machine Learning.

His passion for coding ignited in the 4th grade with Turbo Basic and his first computer, an Atari 65XE. As a child, he combined a love for technology and creativity by playing with large transistors, microscopes, and LEGO.

Privately, he is a fan of Disney animations and classic cartoons like Tom & Jerry, 'Pat a Mat,' and Winnie-the-Pooh, and also enjoys reading fantasy books. Among friends and family, he is known as Fix-it Felix or "Handyman," and is the go-to person for solving technical challenges. His engineering passion manifests in woodcrafting and DIY projects that he enjoys in his free time.

He loves tackling challenges and believes that constructive direct feedback is better than silence, and that even from the largest disputes, better solutions will arise. In December 2023, he joined Visa as Chief Architect to help solve challenges in Software Engineering in the CMS PD area, working with teams across multiple locations.
