As a Senior Manager, you will lead high‑impact engineering teams focused on delivering high‑quality features and capabilities for Visa's strategic clients—including merchants, acquirers, technology partners, and SMB platforms. You will guide the design, enhancement, and implementation of solutions spanning payment acceptance, security, analytics, fraud management, reporting, and broader platform efficiency initiatives. This role requires a self‑starter who thrives in fast‑paced, complex, and highly collaborative environments while balancing multiple concurrent initiatives.
You will oversee teams building full‑stack, real‑time transactional services, REST APIs, container‑based services, and highly functional, secure, scalable, and resilient systems. You will also drive best practices, optimize processes, and coordinate cross‑functional work streams, partnering closely with business, product, architecture, delivery partners, and global technology teams.
Essential Functions:
- Lead end‑to‑end solution delivery: conceptual approach, technical analysis, design, development, unit testing, deployment, and support.
- Provide architectural input and maintain a deep understanding of the tech stack to guide technology decisions and ensure alignment with strategic roadmaps.
- Ensure delivery of highly secure, scalable, resilient real‑time and batch systems.
- Establish and enforce quality standards, conduct code reviews, oversee testing, and lead troubleshooting and defect resolution.
- Collaborate with business partners on requirements elaboration, workflow design, configuration, and process re‑engineering.
- Align team goals with broader organizational and strategic objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and upper management, providing updates, addressing concerns, and advocating for team success.
- Lead and manage multiple agile teams across simultaneous projects with competing timelines.
- Oversee planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution to deliver on time and within budget.
- Work with delivery partners, systems integrators, and product vendors on specifications, version management, code reviews, and implementation activities.
- Collaborate globally across business and technology units, driving strong analysis, process improvements, and change leadership.
- Hire, lead, and develop a diverse team of talented engineers.
- Mentor and coach team members, identifying strengths and development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative, empowering environment that supports innovation and high performance.
- Participate in production support activities including troubleshooting, defect research, promotions, and configuration.
- Drive continuous improvement and adoption of best practices across engineering and delivery.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
3+ years of experience in financial services, banking, or FinTech
Deep understanding of enterprise architecture and operational best practices for building and maintaining highly available / scalable applications.
Have experience with consumer facing application development.
Proven track record of responsibilities as a technical lead.
Experience with Java, C#, Web Frameworks, JavaScript and container-based technologies.
Experience with different database technologies (SQL and No-SQL) and analytic techniques including process and data modeling.
Demonstrated experience in leading 2 or more Scrum teams in an Agile environment.
Developing product roadmaps, writing user stories, backlog grooming, and managing cross-team dependencies.
Ability to drive engineering excellence through CI/CD, code quality, and DevOps practices.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 162,500.00 to 235,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
