Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks a Director, Lead Software Engineer in New York, New York
Implement new requirements for technology systems. Collaborate with the trading desks, Strategic Analysts/Quantitative Analysts, Finance and Risk Managers to deliver the software system that computes risk data, financials, scenarios, and regulatory requirements to help business to dynamically grow. Leverage specialized knowledge to drive the evolution of the platform to meet business growth objectives and achieve regulatory excellence. Track and analyze the technology strategy, adopt new technologies, progress to Cloud, advance firm’s DevOps. Contribute to Agile squads with close business partnership, to build an understanding of the trading business and risk management domain, followed by design and collaboration with global team members. Support Commodity business to effectively run on day-to-day basis. Solve technology issues efficiently and effectively. Assist the New York trading desks/Strategic Analysts/ Quantitative Analysts with their platform and improve systems to meet new business requirements.
Telecommuting permitted up to two (2) days per week.
Salary:
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $152,000 and $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as Technology Associate, Java/Scala Developer, or a closely related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience with: Java, Python, JavaScript; J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition), Spring; SQL, Sybase, Oracle Database; JSON; Git; Linux; Object Oriented Design, Data Structure, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); Working in Financial Services Environment. Also requires any amount of experience with commodities and derivative products.
