POSITION SUMMARY:

This role ensures availability of materials to fulfil the requirements of the production plans within the agreed cost boundaries. The successful person will work within a dynamic environment, enjoy high visibility of the role, and overcome the challenges associated with managing the Nutrition portfolio.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will work closely with the Factory Management and applications group as well as Master Production Scheduling Planner to achieve optimum results. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and coordinating the purchasing of raw and packing materials to support the production plan
  • Monitors supply signals using MRP purchase requisitions ensuring delivery dates, lead times and required quantities are correct and finally creating purchase orders and ensuring fulfilment by the supplier.
  • Communicate requirements through to vendors and provide accurate and timely vendor schedules to suppliers and maintain materials & delivery Non-Conformances.
  • Ensuring service level agreements are consistently met
  • Ensuring that our purchasing disciplines and policies are enforced
  • Respond to any shortfalls by sourcing from external suppliers as required
  • Develop a replenishment plan for raw and packaging materials that guarantees material supply for production, while also meeting working capital targets by applying optimal lot sizes.
  • Managing supplier files, price records, maintain inventory policies and manage purchase requisitions to purchase orders
  • Manages directly with the defined supplier the delivery of materials:  this includes creating, sending, confirming, receiving, investigating errors and discrepancies on blocked or parked invoice lines, and managing all exceptions/issues in those operations, including claims management.
  • Identification of practical issues concerning material supply and demand for raw and packaging materials
  • Ensure supplier relationships.
  • Identification of potential problems for the factory within the planning horizon

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • BS degree is desirable or relevant operational experience.
  • 3-5 years progressive operations experience in production scheduling, materials handling, logistics, procurement
  • The Employee must support and comply with all Nestlé programs and policies, including affirmative action goals and commitments, SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) strategies, corporate citizenship initiatives, NCE (Nestle Continuous Excellence), TPM (Total Performance Management), GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Safety Policies to ensure employee safety and product quality.  The Employee must meet all requirements related to NQMS (Nestle Quality Management System) and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards for Quality, Food Safety, Environmental Compliance and Occupational Health and Safety. 

 

EXPERIENCE:

Experience working in a TPM environment is desirable, ideally within the FMCG industry

SKILLS:

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft products, SAP and MRP systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel will be highly desirable.
  • Solution focused and proactive attitude and high attention to detail.
  • Clear and effective communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance priorities
  • Ability to build & manage relationships
  • Planning, organizational and analytical skills
  • Able to see the bigger picture beyond the scope of their job
