About the Role
Windows Server Tooling squad provides enterprise class monitoring and tooling solutions for the firm's Windows Server environment of over 13.000 servers. The team is responsible for all aspects of design, implementation, and support of these systems with a presence in several cities across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within an agile squad to modernize, automate, and support Windows server-based solutions, adhering to company policies and the latest security guidelines.
- Deliver third-line support, which includes on-call duties, investigating issues, and troubleshooting root causes. Leveraging Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, provide recommendations and solutions based on findings.
- Design and deliver solutions that address specific business challenges, tailoring them to Fleet requirements and ensuring they fit into the firm's technology framework.
- Develop, assess, and manage technical and operational support documentation and processes.
- Facilitate and conduct knowledge sharing among colleagues and clients.
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements
- At least 2 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
- Proficiency with Windows Server operating systems up to Windows Server 2022
- Experience in using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices in a large-scale environment
- Advanced level PowerShell scripting knowledge
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in designing, delivering, and documenting technical solutions to meet specific business requirements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others in a globally distributed team.
- Experience with Agile concepts and methodology
- Familiarity with developer (DevOps) tools and processes (source code management, automated testing, and release)
- Experience with any of the following technologies in an enterprise environment: Microsoft System Center Orchestrator, Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, Splunk, Grafana, PowerShell DSC
- Previous experience in supporting a large-scale Windows server plant
- Experience of working in a distributed team and leading technical aspects of projects
- Experience of dealing with clients within their respective businesses to understand requirements and scoping aspects of work
