Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills (must have):
- Working knowledge and hands on experience in four or more of the following technology areas: Intune, Autopilot, Patch Management / Vulnerability Remediation, Application Packaging, Windows Update for Business, Automation, Reporting (Power BI).
- Expert level understanding of Windows OS level issues and troubleshooting.
- Expertise on compliance policies related to windows desktop environments.
- Expertise in configuring Microsoft applications & browsers.
- Excellent automation skills - PowerShell, Python are preferred. Other programming languages are a plus.
- Patch management expertise using Windows Update for business/ Auto Patch or any third-party SaaS product like Qualys Patch management.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Preferred Skills (good to have):
- Strong understanding and experience in Vulnerability remediation using various tools.
- Basic understanding of security concepts (SSL, PKI, IPsec, VPNs, Firewalls, DMZ, Proxy, and cyber-attacks) is required.
- Hands-on experience in Microsoft Teams administration.
Education Qualification and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent area of study.
- Industry certifications in relevant areas is a plus.
- ITIL Certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in IT industry in relevant area.
Responsibilities
- Conducts highly complex systems automation/scripting and systems support activities, including system integration and monitoring.
- Maintain existing documentation of systems processes and procedures.
- Work closely with other technology support groups to develop, plan, and implement system enhancements and upgrades and manage escalation requests.
- Provide expertise for numerous core Microsoft systems & enterprise infrastructure technologies.
- Will be the primary SME on selected windows infra-apps technologies and tools related to Desktop Engineering and responsible for mentoring other members of the team and do periodic knowledge share sessions within the group .
- Responsible for documenting issue summary, perform root cause analysis, and implement remediation actions for various major incidents.
- Manage vulnerability remediation, patch management, and software deployment operations.
- Adhere to standard ITIL processes and procedures for incident, change, and problem management.
- Possess the ability to handle ambiguity and drive clarity and action.
- Effectively summarize complex technical and business issues for the appropriate audience (technical & non-technical).
- Analyse metrics, logs, and system alarms to troubleshoot issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Facilitate major incidents/outage restoration calls to assess application impact, notify the business, and resolve system issues.
- Independently manage tasks and work within multiple projects simultaneously.
- Keep up with emerging technologies and drive process improvement.
