12The Team: You will be part of a world class Product Services & Engineering team architecting various solutions for business requirements within different product offerings of S&P Dow Jones, used by tens of thousands of users globally. The team is responsible for ensuring cloud solutions that deliver Greater Reliability & Resilience, High Performance, High Availability and Scalability.
The Impact: You will utilize your technical knowledge and analytical skills in architecting and optimizing cloud infrastructure, standardizing technology stack for cloud & data centers, implementing cloud service catalog and service governance solutions, and driving implementation of our cloud first strategy and cloud adoption in partnership with development & business stakeholders.

The Cloud & Infrastructure Operations Lead will be responsible for supporting a large-scale deployment and all underlying systems related to supporting cloud computing workloads and IT project deployment. Ensuring application performance, uptime, and scale, while maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design. Assisting development teams with cloud adoption, coaching on best practices, and developing innovative cloud-based solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the success of building and maintaining a world-class cloud infrastructure team, with key objectives in the area’s utilization, availability, capacity, scalability, and performance.
- Managing the BAU tasks and release tasks handled by the infrastructure team.
- Co-ordinate and carry out periodic system level checks that ensure operational readiness of our systems.
- Collaborating with other application and infrastructure service owners to ensure robust service delivery.
- Working with external partners, auditors and consultants on risk management and regulatory compliance projects.
- Lead and manage change management procedures for the infrastructure and conduct change impact review and analysis.
- Developing and implementing service level agreement (SLA) standards necessary for successful IT-enabled business operations.
- Managing the ticketing system and change management process for the team.
- Provide input to change control implementations, backup and roll-back plans.
- Follow appropriate departmental and company procedures and policies (i.e. change control, security and auditing, release, configuration, problem and incident management).
- Utilize and contribute to robust procedures and processes within the Infrastructure Operations team
- Identify and resolve problems with the services and support the resolution of problems in dependent services.
- Ensure group adherence to and help mature operational processes (ITIL) and compliance controls.
- Manage user access and provision entitlements across various Infrastructure components.
- Patch management and plan the schedule of patch deployment across various infrastructure services like OS patching, AWS services patching, network equipment patching etc.
- Vulnerability analyses and vulnerability management across OS and Cloud services, with ability to ensure the vulnerabilities are closed in a time bound manner.
- Lead problem resolution process to root cause, take initiative in identifying and fixing broken processes in the infrastructure environment.
- Adhere to compliance with all security controls and processes and adherence to security policies and standards.
- Generate Operations and Service metrics and develop dashboards for services and operational tasks undertaken by the team.
- Ensure strong collaboration across the board including internal and cross-divisional teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience
- 12+ years of experience in Cloud (AWS)or Infrastructure Operations
- Worked on Infrastructure as code (IAC) projects using tools like Ansible, CloudFormation, Shell Scripting
- AWS Certification and RedHat Linux Certification preferred
- Experience with AWS managed services
- Experience in working in change and incident management and BAU tasks
- Experience in RedHat Linux scripting
- Able to work in a diverse team
Required Skills & Experience:
- Candidates should have a minimum of 12+ years industry experience in a cloud and IT Operations.
- Extensive problem solving and debugging skills
- Experience in providing services to agreed SLA’s and OLA’s.
- Experience with OS/Server Patching and experience in troubleshooting & supporting applications running on Linux.
- Experience in working with ServiceNow for Change Management, CMDB, Incidents and Tickets.
- Experienced in Problem and Incident Management supporting a large corporation
- Experience with working in an ITIL framework
- Administer AWS infrastructure including compute, network and storage resources.
- Provision compute instances in AWS and manage resource utilization.
- Experience with monitoring platforms and configuration management systems
- Engineer storage solutions, content replication, meet performance requirements.
- Deploy systems monitoring and reporting solutions.
- Participate in Risk Assessment reviews, audits.
- Maintain network diagrams, systems installation configuration & guides, support procedures and runbook.
- Respond to critical production issues and provide immediate workarounds to maintain business continuity.
- Infrastructure vuln management and remediation, OS, and cloud vulnerabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
