Join Yelp for a discussion that will explore the topic of intersectionality in the tech industry. We’ll hear from software engineer Luis Daniel Rady Colunga and engineering manager Ana Alvarado-Virág on how their identities have influenced their careers. They’ll share insights on how they navigate working in an internationally distributed workforce, including their experiences being members of groups such as SomosYelp—a Yelp employee resource group dedicated for Yelpers who identify as Hispanic/Latinx and allies to connect, learn and support one another.

Luis Rady is an iOS developer for the Project Hiring Decision Team at Yelp.
He’s been with Yelp for one year and a half. Prior to Yelp, Luis Rady was a software engineer at a software consulting firm in San Francisco and received his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Luis Rady is based in Monterrey, Mexico and enjoys being with his family and playing soccer.
Ana is an Engineering Manager for the Customer Infrastructure team at Yelp.
She has been at Yelp for over three years and has a background in Database Engineering. Prior to joining Yelp, she received her degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar (Venezuela).
Beyond work she leads the Latinas in Tech London Chapter, a non-profit that provides resources, opportunities and a supportive community for Latinas to thrive, innovate and lead in tech.
Ana is based in the UK and enjoys hiking, yoga and baking in her spare time.
