Often do we ask ourselves, "Why is it so challenging for us as women to take the lead? Why so few of us are becoming leaders and managers in Engineering?" There are multiple reasons for that, the common fact is that it is harder and we are not always empowered to do so.

Often do we ask ourselves, "Why is it so challenging for us as women to take the lead? Why so few of us are becoming leaders and managers in Engineering?" There are multiple reasons for that, the common fact is that it is harder and we are not always empowered to do so.
It doesn't have to be that way, in an ideal world we would want to create a time when the path for women in Engineering leadership is both challenging, and rewarding, and women have the experience of equal opportunities. For that to happen, we should be in a place where we have more women and allies in Engineering leadership.
That change starts with all of us who are in position to help other women become Engineering leaders.
In this Office Hours, we will discuss how to support and coach women in engineering to take the leap into leadership and handle the challenges they are facing. Challenges such as family status, lack of sponsors, vocal or non-inclusive environment, missing peer support and missing opportunities are just some of those challenges presented to women. We will discuss tools and approaches that can be powerful to build a path forward. We will discuss our part in that growth process for other women, whether we are already are leaders or we only crossed part of the way. Because at any point in our career growth, there is always something we can teach others.
