Meet The Speaker

Syamla Bandla

Director of Production Engineering, Facebook

Syamla is currently the Director of Production Engineering for the Monetization space at Facebook which includes Facebook Ads, Marketplace, and Commerce and Business Platforms. Prior to Facebook she held leadership roles at Dell, Qualys, Risk Management Solutions, and Fidelity Investments where she took the teams through transformation and growth.

In 2019, she was named as one of the top 100 Women of Influence by Silicon Valley Business Journal. Some of her other recent accolades include: eWOW 2021 Diversity and Culture Leadership Award, WomenTech Network Global Technology Leadership Award (2020), Finalist as Ally of the Year Awards (2020), and Finalist for Executive Women of the Year(2020) by EWF. She was also awarded the Leadership Excellence in Technology Award by the National Diversity Council (2020). Syamla was also listed as one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology by National Diversity Council (2018), a finalist for Women of Influence (2017) by EWF, and a winner of Top Women in Cloud(2016) by CloudNow.

Syamla is the founding member of the FirstBoard.io where she and other women leaders work together with a mission of having more women on the boards. She is also a member of the Forbes Technology Council, a SheLeadsTech Ambassador, EWF(Executive Women Forum) Ambassador, and on the Advisory Boards for various startups and a nonprofit. She was also recently added to the Visionary Voices Speakers Bureau by AllRaise.

She is deeply passionate about driving Diversity initiatives both within the company as well as in the industry. She invests time in mentoring other women in tech. Syamla pursued her Masters in Information Technology (thesis pending) at Harvard University and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering and is a recipient of the Gold Medal from Nagarjuna University, India.

Outside of work she enjoys hiking and biking with her family. She has two children- a son (14 years old) and a daughter (10 years old). She also enjoys vegan cooking and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
