Chris Hawman
Chris Hawman
SVP and Global Head of IT, Life and Health

Chris Hawman is the Senior Vice President and Head of IT for Munich Re Canada, and the Global Head of IT for the Life and Health Re-insurance and Investment Management divisions. He has responsibility for related business applications and for developing the future roadmap and direction for these business areas. Chris has more than 20 years of experience as a technology and operations leader, with a focus on IT strategy and transformation, architecture, program delivery and IT risk. Prior to Munich Re he was Vice President and Head of IT for RBC Global Asset Management, and has previously held IT executive roles at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Merrill Lynch and HSBC Bank.

Yamila Harris

Global Head of Support, IT Service Delivery

Yamila joined Munich Re in January of 2021 as the Global Head of Support for IT Service Delivery. She also serves on the Board of Directors for HITEC, a global, non-profit/non-partisan executive IT leadership organization focused on providing a forum for the career development and advancement of technology executives, mentoring and sponsoring emerging executives, and giving back to the Hispanic community through philanthropic efforts. Yamila has a proven track record of motivational leadership and successful large-scale technology transformation at Fortune 100 companies.

Stephanie Copp
Stephanie Copp
Global Head of IT Security Consulting & Testing

Stephanie Copp, CISSP, CISM, ABCP, GSLC, is the Global Head of IT Security Project Consulting & Testing for Munich Re. She leads two teams of security specialists who support global projects by providing information security consulting and advice across the company or perform and oversee penetration and red team testing ensuring our networks and applications are secure and safe. Stephanie has specialized in information security for the past twenty-two years holding a variety of positions including VP Technical Risk Management at Manulife/John Hancock, Information Security Officer for Mackenzie Financial, and Information Security Architect at Canada Life.

Stephanie holds several certifications, including that of Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Associate Business Continuity Planner (ABCP), and GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC). She also has a Master of Science in Computer & Information Security from the University of Liverpool. Stephanie is an avid traveler and is looking forward to visiting her seventh and final continent.

Karveen is the Global Head of Service Delivery Transformation and Supporting Services. She has 25 Years of Project Delivery experience, and in her current job she is responsible for delivering the strategic agenda for our IT infrastructure (cloud, networks, Workplace). In her spare time she plays the drums.

Phil Roeper
Phil Roeper
SVP, CIO

Phil Roeper is Chief Information Officer, Senior Vice President of Munich Re America. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Team of Munich Re America and of the Global IT Leadership Team.

He oversees IT’s Business Solutions support for the Primary Insurance (PIRI) businesses in US and UK and global IT’s US shared service organization. Phil has over 30 years’ experience in management and technical positions.
