Job Purpose
Responsible Sourcing Managers play a critical role in safeguarding an organization against legal and regulatory risks, ensuring that all operations align with established standards and ethical and sustainability practices. They must stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that could impact the organization and adapt sourcing strategies accordingly. We are seeking a Responsible Sourcing Manager who can analyze our sourcing and procurement strategies and processes and ensure that our operations are in compliance with all mandated regulations as well as our voluntary programs and sustainability initiatives. The Responsible Sourcing Manager will be responsible for preparing responses to customer inquiries and correspondence with various Government departments and agencies. This person will be a champion of the company’s corporate responsibility initiatives to both internal and external customers, suppliers and regulatory agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- As it pertains to the procurement of goods and services from external suppliers:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including but not limited to Legal Counsel, Human Resources, Environmental Health and Safety and Sustainability, to develop and manage policies and controls intended to meet or exceed the company’s social responsibility goals and objections
- Prepare and submit reports detailing the company’s goals and achievements as they pertain to the company’s corporate responsibility and supplier diversity goals and objectives
- Educate and advise both internal customers and external suppliers to ensure compliance to all stated goals and objectives
- Assess future ventures and acquisitions to identify and help mitigate possible risks and opportunities
- Proactively keep apprised of global regulatory developments that may have an impact on the way the company procures goods and services as well as evolving best practices in the area of responsible sourcing and procurement
- Collect and formulate supply chain data, advising management of potential problem areas and making suggestions for corrective action.
- Design and deliver training programs for employees on responsible sourcing best practices and legal requirements
- Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions
Education and Experience
- Strong understanding of legal requirements and controls, excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
- Individual should be highly motivated and committed to professional standards and performance
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, law, supply chain compliance or a similarly relevant area of study
- Minimum of 4 years working experience as a responsible sourcing or compliance professional
- Familiarity with the PFAS, REACH, RoHS, RMI, SCIP, TSCA and supplier diversity programs
- Moderate travel will be required (15% or less)
