    About the Role

Forma Site Design is evolving. Today, it is primarily adopted through architect-led workflows. The next step is to make it equally powerful, credible, and indispensable for engineers working in land development, civil engineers, infrastructure planners, and site-focused engineering professionals.

We are looking for a Product Manager to lead this expansion. The core responsibility of this role is to bring engineers meaningfully into the design process earlier, ensuring their intent, constraints, and judgment influence decisions and optimize outcomes before they become costly to change.

You will work as part of a dedicated product team within Forma Design, partnering closely with Engineering and Design in an empowered product triad. Together, you will discover, validate, and deliver solutions that improve decision-making, strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration, and lead to more feasible and sustainable outcomes.

    What You Will Be Building

You will help shape how Forma Site Design supports early-stage engineering workflows within a shared, multi-disciplinary design environment.

This is not about porting existing engineering tools into the cloud. It is about identifying where civil engineers can create the most value early on and shaping product direction accordingly. You will help define what “engineering-grade” means in an early-stage context, making deliberate trade-offs between rigor and flexibility so engineers can contribute insight without slowing exploration.

Your work will focus on how site constraints, grading logic, infrastructure considerations, and other feasibility signals are represented and interacted with alongside architectural exploration. Engineers, architects, and planners will work against the same site model, understand trade-offs together, and align on feasibility and intent from the start.

The result should be a shared environment where engineering input informs key decisions early and carries forward as projects progress, without locking teams into premature detail.

    What You Will Do

    Product Discovery

Lead discovery with a strong focus on engineers’ early-stage workflows. Work directly with civil and land development engineers to understand how they reason about sites, constraints, feasibility, and risk. Explore where current tools fall short and where cloud-native and outcome-based workflows can create new value. Validate problems and solutions through interviews, prototypes, experiments, and data, ensuring learning continuously informs what the team builds next.

    Product Delivery

Translate validated insights into clear priorities and actionable direction for the product team. Partner closely with Design and Engineering to deliver high-quality solutions iteratively. Maintain a strong connection between discovery and delivery so that learning drives execution.

    Product Strategy and Direction

Contribute to and execute the Site Design product strategy within Forma Design, with a focus on expanding adoption among engineers. Ensure new capabilities balance engineering rigor with the flexibility required in early-stage design, and fit coherently within Forma’s broader platform strategy.

    Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration

Work closely with adjacent Forma teams to ensure Site Design for Civil engineers integrates naturally into end to end workflows. Make dependencies visible and manageable. Drive alignment around shared intent models and consistent system behavior across the platform.

    Goals and Measurement

Define clear, outcome-oriented goals for your area of responsibility. Establish meaningful success metrics related to engineer adoption, engagement, workflow impact, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Track progress using both qualitative and quantitative insight and adjust direction as needed.

    Decision Ownership

Own product decisions within the squad’s scope. Make trade offs explicit, incorporate input from stakeholders, and stand behind the decisions that shape product direction and value delivery. Take accountability for outcomes, not just output.

    Communication and Representation

Act as the primary representative for the product team in cross team forums and stakeholder discussions. Communicate progress, challenges, and learnings with clarity and transparency. Share insights broadly to support alignment and continuous improvement across the product area.

    What We Are Looking For

    • 3-7 years of experience in product management or a closely related role in B2B or SaaS products

    • Strong skills in customer discovery, problem framing, and experimentation

    • Experience working closely with Design and Engineering in empowered product teams

    • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building products from the ground up

    • Ability to think in systems, platforms, and AI enabled workflows

    • Strong communication and collaboration skills

    • Interest in AEC workflows, early stage design, and decision making under constraints

    • Experience with design, engineering, or planning tools is a plus but not required

    Why Join

This is an opportunity to change how engineering expertise influences decisions early in the design process and help shape better cities. By bringing civil engineers into earlier, more meaningful roles, you ensure that feasibility, constraints, and judgment guide outcomes before they become costly to change. You will define workflows that allow engineers, architects, and planners to work from a shared understanding of the site, leading to more informed decisions, fewer late-stage compromises, and urban environments that work better in practice.
