The candidate will be an integral member of the FP&A Process and System Improvement team report directly to the FP&A Process and System Improvement Lead.
The FP&A Process and System Improvement team will support FP&A leadership by improving Decision Effectiveness, Process Efficiency, and Stakeholder Experience:
- Decision Effectiveness: Empower stakeholder decisions with actionable insights delivered through a scalable, robust analytical platform
- Process Efficiency: Streamline, automate and integrate firmwide planning and reporting, in support of a fast-paced, high-performing team
- Stakeholder Experience: Foster a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset to drive exceptional results for internal and external stakeholders
The candidate will actively participate and drive critical engagements with FP&A, the wider Finance organization, and other functions in collaboration with the FP&A System and Process Improvement Lead
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Analysis & Problem Solving:
- Analyze existing processes and data to identify areas for improvement.
- Identify opportunities to optimize operating models and organizational structures
- Perform detailed data analysis to support initiatives and generate strategic insights
- Develop clear, concise, and impactful presentations and executive-level documents to effectively communicate complex concepts
- Project Execution & Stakeholder Management:
- Structure and execute own workstream
- Anticipate issues and put in place mitigation strategies
- See dependencies and connectivity across workstreams to execute accordingly
- Develop and maintain rigorous project plans and manage tactical project needs, managing across resource, time and relationships
- Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional stakeholders to gather information, validate findings, and support the implementation and adoption of recommendations and solutions
- Risk & Control Stewardship:
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made
- Demonstrate consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup (and its clients and assets)
- Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations
- Adhere to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 - 6 years of experience within financial institutions or as a consultant serving the financial services industry. Financial Planning & Analysis experience is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university in a STEM, Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or another analytical discipline, with a strong academic record. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Proven ability to conduct detailed analysis, identify issues, and contribute to developing practical solutions
- Adept at creating clear and impactful presentations using PowerPoint to convey information.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel for complex data manipulation, analysis, and basic financial modeling.
- Communication:
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills to influence and engage senior stakeholders effectively through clear, concise, and compelling narratives
- Project Support & Collaboration:
- Demonstrated experience in working on transformative initiatives and working effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
- Personal Attributes:
- Driven, proactive, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and adapt to new challenges
- A strong team player with a collaborative mindset, committed to collective success
- Risk & Control Orientation: Solid understanding of fundamental financial controls, risk management principles, and regulatory requirements
