Skills and Competencies
5+ years of professional QA automation or SDET experience building scalable and reliable automated test systems.
Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java for building automation frameworks and reusable test utilities.
Experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks for UI, API, and microservices‑based architectures.
Hands‑on expertise with modern testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Jest, and PyTest for functional, regression, and E2E automation.
Strong understanding of API testing methodologies, contract testing, load/performance testing, and distributed service validation.
Familiarity with AWS fundamentals and cloud‑native testing patterns.
Deep experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast, reliable, and traceable execution.
Ability to drive testability improvements by collaborating closely with developers on architecture, error handling, and quality gates.
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving skills to identify root causes across UI, backend, and infrastructure layers.
Experience improving test coverage, stabilizing flaky tests, and optimizing test execution performance.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and evolve automation frameworks supporting UI, API, and microservices test coverage.
Develop automated test suites using Cypress, Playwright, Jest, PyTest, and other modern testing tools.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable validation across build, deployment, and release workflows.
Drive end‑to‑end, regression, and performance testing to ensure platform stability and high‑quality feature delivery.
Collaborate with developers and platform teams to enhance testability, improve code quality, and establish automation best practices.
Perform API testing, contract validation, and load testing to ensure resilience and scalability across services.
Improve test coverage, stabilize test execution, and eliminate flaky tests through root‑cause analysis and tooling improvements.
Partner with engineering teams to define test strategies, quality gates, and automation roadmaps aligned with product milestones.
Participate in code reviews related to test frameworks, tooling, and test strategy improvements.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA automation frameworks, methodologies, and engineering practices.
About the Team
Senior QA Automation Engineers build and scale automated testing across UI, API, and microservices layers. They integrate automation into CI/CD, enhance test coverage, and strengthen reliability through E2E, regression, and performance testing.
They partner closely with developers, platform teams, and product groups to ensure testability, maintain high engineering standards, and support predictable, high‑quality delivery across Moody’s products.
