Citi’s wide array of Trade solutions and tools aim to deliver seamless, scalable trade flows while helping mitigate risk and optimize efficiency.  Core trade product offerings include: Standby Letters of Credit, Commercial Letters of Credit, and Documentary Collections.

 

This role is a role within the Client Segments group in Core Trade that will focus on deepening relationships and increasing wallet share with our High Value Corporate Clients.

 

Responsibilities of the role will include generating a thorough understanding of Citi’s capabilities (including versus our industry peers), a detailed knowledge of the industry including general industry needs and insights into how clients operate within. Such knowledge will allow the successful applicant to position Citi to add maximum value to our clients and differentiate Citi versus our industry peers. Trade Sales and client coverage teams will be the key partners to generate a pipeline of clients where the capabilities can be deployed and ultimately seeing the pipeline through to execution. The success of this role will be increased client penetration, increased wallet share and retention of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strategic roadmap for High Value Corporate client engagement across NAM clients and NAM flows as well as capability deployment ensuring that the maximum benefit can be taken from all client opportunities.
  • Develop understanding of the key regional differences of the client segments/clients and amend global strategies accordingly.
  • Partner with Trade Sales and Client coverage teams to drive the execution of global strategies associated with these flows.
  • Work closely and consistently with trade sales and client coverage teams to maintain Share Of Mind for Core Trade products and to also position the importance of Core Trade to our clients.
  • Ensure accountability of the partner groups to pitch Core Trade products with their clients and achieve relevant targets.
  • Drive client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status.
  • Travel to meet clients in person both Domestically and Internationally to understand their specific requirements and identify capability gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Manage client and competitor market research, develop product innovation roadmap, identify product/capability gaps with Citi’s product offering through feedback from Trade Sales, Client coverage and direct from clients.
  • Work directly with Core Trade Product groups (i.e. Network and Manufacturing) to identify the gaps and subsequent solutions and prioritise as needed.
  • Drive achievement of segment financial performance, revenue performance, and expense management goals as well any other identified KPI.
  • Lead innovation by working with external partners/alliances to develop products and manage ongoing relationships.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practice control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or equivalent business experience is a plus.

- 8+ years of experience in client facing leadership roles.

- Proven track record of Client delivery driving significant revenue growth.

- Strong knowledge of trade finance, supply chain, or logistics domains is highly desirable.

- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to navigate complex, fast-paced environments and drive results

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$163,600.00 - $245,400.00
