Visa is looking for a Product Manager to be part of the Account and Wallet team. The Product Manager is responsible for maximizing the value of our products and the work of the engineering teams that are working on our internal operational user platforms. As part of an agile ecosystem, they work directly with engineering and agile delivery managers. They are accountable for answering the questions: What products and features should we build and why, and how do we deliver these to market or internal platform ecosystem This role reports to a Senior Product Manager/Director of Visa Direct Backoffice.
Strategy and Vision: Collaborate in crafting your areas strategy by doing deep market, customer or user, competitor and technology research. Develop a product strategy and roadmap based on the research. Secure buy in for the product strategy from colleagues and stakeholders. Translate the strategy and the customer or user problems into a product backlog for engineering. Support quarterly and annual strategic planning events in collaboration with product, business and technology stakeholders.
Discovery: Conduct discovery with customers or internal users to uncover potential problems and opportunities to tackle. Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to ideate new features and products to be developed. Complete detailed discovery on things like customer or user needs, operational flows and systems maps. Work with internal and external teams to develop and maintain technical documentation. Ensure requirements are detailed enough to take into development including functional and non functional requirements. Elaboration of features and user stories in collaboration with the technical team. Maintain a deep awareness of how the business works in your area of ownership and become an SME.
Delivery: Manage end to end product development from planning to execution launch including release planning and ongoing maintenance. Prioritize the product backlog based on customer commercial and strategic value potentially across more than one scrum team. Ensure the product backlog is visible open and clear to all including dependencies and priorities based on the overall strategy. Support UAT testing training for customers or users demos and implementation activities. Identify and detail any changes to business requirements to ensure successful delivery of the overall business and technology solutions. Address queries from customers or internal users around features and product behavior. Collaborate with other Product Managers to ensure delivery of product initiatives remains on time within budget and aligned with strategic objectives and adjust the roadmap if timelines associated with dependencies change. You will be the key point of contact from the product team for different stakeholders for the epics and features you will be leading. You will support and train new team members in your area of expertise. Continuously align with engineering during the product development lifecycle to ensure the developed product feature meets business needs. Ensure close attention to detail throughout the product development lifecycle including design documentation SDLC activities and adherence to agreed processes. Participate in agile ceremonies and support the team by providing details on what is being prioritized and why.
Adoption: Collaborate with the GTM and delivery management teams to define the go to market implementation approach and product positioning to customers or internal users. Drive product adoption across departments regions segments and use cases. Measure and communicate product performance and impact post launch.
What we expect of you day to day: Risk Management Work closely with the Visa Direct Risk Champions Risk and Compliance. Support the Chief of Staff with internal communication culture and employee engagement. Provide general administrative support to the senior leader in the region. What success looks like: Delivery of product strategy backlog roadmap and business cases. High velocity shipping of new features and products that solve customer or user problems and generate value. Consistent delivery and deep understanding of product development.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- At least 3-4 years proven experience in a Product Owner/Product Manager role, preferably in Financial Services (especially payments).
- Experience in Compliance (Sanctions Screening, Fraud management etc)
- Experience crafting a vision for your product based on customer/user discovery, market research, data analysis, etc.
- A proven ability to be able to translate business needs to a technical team and vice versa i.e. ability to bridge the gap between the business and technical teams.
- Ability to define a product backlog using standard categories like epics, features and user stories, and experience making tough trade-offs and prioritization decisions.
- Experienced in facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders from product, business and technology.
- Comfortable working with agile frameworks, and across multiple teams.
- Business analysis skills, especially business process mapping and data transformation/mapping, including sufficient experience with tools to support such modelling activities.
- Good technical understanding of web applications and APIs.
- Domain knowledge in Fintech e.g. cross border payments, FX, payment standards, scheme rules, payment processing technologies and regulations.
- Previous experience in regulatory Compliance and Financial crime prevention (AML, fraud, and terrorist financing) is a strong advantage.
- Experience working with teams in global teams across multiple locations and time zones is an advantage.
- Strong experience working with the MS Office and Atlassian suite of products is an advantage.
