Lead HR Solutions Analyst (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking a Lead HR Solutions Analyst (Maternity Cover) in our Toronto office.  The role is part of a global team that supports a seamless network of systems and services to enable our HR and line management colleagues to be as self-sufficient as possible by integrating human resources management systems, databases, automated workflow, intranets, third party providers and other technologies with key HR processes.

About the Role
In this opportunity as Lead HR Solutions Analyst (Maternity Cover), you will:

  • Work with the global HR team to implement global standards and define and implement regional specific standards.
  • Assist Thomson Reuters system users with complex queries.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers at all levels and thoroughly analyze their requirements.
  • Proactively identify value-add projects and work autonomously to complete them.
  • Have good project management skills and lead small projects.
  • Provide input to assist management team with setting direction.    
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining internal processes and standards.
  • Manage the monthly intake and prioritization review. Staying curious on new features, incorporating support project updates, and actively managing a transparent, value‑driven HR Digital roadmap.

Workday Specific

  • Troubleshoot complex Workday configuration to identify and fix root causes.
  • Lead focused discovery efforts to explore new functionality and tools.
  • Create complex custom reports to meet business needs.
  • Design technical solutions to solve challenging business problems.  
  • Work with functional experts to produce formal configuration requirements documentation for strategic initiatives.  
  • Configure Workday solution to meet business needs, following standard software development lifecycle.
  • Analyze software releases to assess impact of new features on core solution.
  • Develop and execute unit and system integration test plans.


About You:

You're a fit for the role of Lead HR Solutions Analyst (Maternity Cover) if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in related technology program preferred 
  • Previous experience working on large HR digital initiatives that have been implemented successfully across business units that cover an end-to-end view on HR functionality and the employee life cycle supporting multiple lines of business 
  • Strong understanding of enterprise-wide HRIS solutions and related tools 
  • Strong understanding of leading-edge cloud-based HR technologies within all areas of functionality (Recruiting, Staffing, Absence, Compensation, Talent, Payroll, Benefits, Security, Integration and Reporting) 
  • Strong understanding of Payroll processing.
  • Experience working and collaborating with high-performing teams 
  • Experience with successful program delivery, accountability for quality and detail and commercial orientation 
  • Knowledge in agile methodology 
  • Advanced knowledge of systems and tools 
  • Knowledge of leading-edge technologies Experience with RPA, AI, machine learning  
  • Experience in system governance protocol and procedures to manage CR and governance processes leveraging tools like Jira, Service Now and Workday 
  • Strong experience interpreting metrics leveraging scorecard, dashboard to drive insight and action 
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities 
  • Superior collaboration and communication skills; ability to build relationships and to consult at all levels within an organization. 
  • Excellent project management skills; adept in creating and executing project plans and managing successful project execution across business groups, geographies and disciplines. 
  • People management skills; team building and leadership skills to achieve high performance from team. 
  • Ability to lead effectively in a virtual team setting.  
  • Strong technical skills in business process, security and domain functional configuration 
  • Excellent HR business knowledge and demonstrated ability to deliver results exceeding expectations with clients and key stakeholders. 
  • Customer and business acumen; demonstrated stakeholder management skills. 
  • Excellent communication, client management and business literacy skills 
  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal and negotiation skills 
  • Strong networking and building external relationships with vendors and other industry peers

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For Ontario, Canada, the base compensation range for this role is $108,000 CAD - $158,000 CAD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
