- Quality Management Execution:
- Execute Quality Management framework for Client Tax Operations.
- Perform sample testing to review the accurate and timely solicitation in compliance with Tax authorities.
- Conduct comprehensive data reconciliation and validation to ensure the integrity of Client Tax Operations.
- Tax Compliance Support:
- Assist in managing and coordinating responses to queries from Tax Authorities and internal control assessments (e.g., MCA framework) specifically related to Client Tax Operations, under supervision.
- Actively participate in relevant Tax forums and team discussions.
- Identify potential discrepancies or issues in Client Tax Operations and escalate them appropriately to senior team members.
- Contribute to the understanding and application of new or revised Tax requirements.
- Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the risk and control framework for Tax reporting processes.
- Stay informed on evolving global tax requirements, Citi policies, standards and adapt QA activities to meet compliance standards, especially those impacting wealth management products.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Corporate Tax, ICRM, Legal, Business Units) and external parties as required, to address QA issues and support remediation plans.
- Process Improvement Support:
- Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives within the Tax reporting function.
- Assist in identifying and implementing best practices to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and consistency of tax reporting.
- Support the monitoring of data quality metrics and controls to ensure the integrity of data used for tax reporting.
- Risk Assessment Contribution:
- Assist in conducting risk assessments to identify gaps in existing QA processes and support mitigating compliance risks.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and contribute to comprehensive reports on the status of QA programs, key findings, and recommendations for improvement.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional Experience:
- Proven experience (typically 4+ years) in Tax Information Reporting or Quality Management within the financial services industry.
- Working experience and knowledge of various Client Tax Reporting frameworks (e.g., FATCA, CRS, Relief at Source, Reclaim at Source) and indirect Tax regimes like GST, VAT, FTT will be preferred.
- Prior experience in Due Diligence, withholding and reporting of Tax Information will be preferred.
- Good understanding of key Tax reporting frameworks and requirements.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reconciliation, advanced Excel functions, and automation tools.
- Familiarity with data analytics and QA tools is a plus.
- Core Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with team members and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to follow established processes and procedures.
- Experience in managing documentation for Tax Authority submissions and audit trails.
