Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in reviewing quantitative and qualitative information
- Ability to verify financial, economic, and corporate data across multiple reliable sources
- Good understanding of financial statements, credit metrics, and basic accounting concepts
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to identify inconsistencies, gaps, or anomalies in data
- Ability to follow documented methodologies, quality standards, and internal control procedures
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to flag issues clearly and escalate discrepancies
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple deliverables
- Knowledge of third-party databases such as Haver Analytics, Factset, Bloomberg etc is a strong plus
Education
- At least a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or similar field with 1-2years of professional work experience, preferably in credit report writing or in editing or fact checking/ data validation role
Responsibilities
- Support the Moody’s Ratings Research team’s efforts in various research report preparation activities across LoBs and various content types, including Moody’s credit opinions, sector reports, outlooks, podcasts and other investor outreach materials.
- Support intensive fact checking of research publications for accuracy of data and content, including but not limited to cross-checking financial figures, tables, ratios, and exhibits for accuracy and ensure consistency of facts, terminology, assumptions and disclosures across related publications and rating actions.
- Identify, document, and escalate discrepancies, data gaps, or inconsistencies for resolution prior to publication.
- Interact with global MIS Research teams in supporting high quality research products, including receiving, review and analysing data and other reports as well as coordinating responses on data investigation/issues as necessary.
- Support creation and maintenance of operational documentation and guidelines. Collaborate effectively with team members and consistently works with a strong focus on timely deliveries.
- Apply internal content verification checklists, governance requirements, and quality controls.
