Our Technology Team partners with teams across Expedia Group to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. Price is a key factor influencing traveler’s path to driving a choice leading to a purchase. In a world of infinite paths to purchase, travelers make multiple searches and find the ‘best trip’ and ‘best deal’. The Offers Domain team is tasked with giving the customer a simple, clear, accurate, transparent pricing throughout their shopping and booking journeys. We do this by putting the customer first, creating capabilities that can be shared and presented to the customer that meet the travelers’ expectations in locally relevant ways and adhere to regulatory norms. This is a great opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in shaping our technical domain with the goal of powering all Expedia Group’s brands and product lines.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions that drive business results across Expedia Group’s platforms.
- Participate in end-to-end system design, including low-level design (LLD), API design, and data modeling activities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver robust technical outcomes.
- Write, test, and deploy code with a focus on quality, reliability, and maintainability.
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes across products and services.
- Apply familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and integrate AI/ML concepts into real-world products.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
- 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong grasp of object‑oriented programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms in Java or Kotlin, with familiarity across the JVM stack.
- Experience building, deploying, and supporting distributed systems and cloud services at scale in public or hybrid cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), including developing and maintaining production systems as part of a collaborative engineering team.
- Experience with system and API design, including data modeling for scalable services.
- Ability to own and deliver features or components within a broader service or technical domain.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with container technologies (such as Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools or processes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and operational excellence practices.
- Exposure to data-driven decision making, telemetry, and monitoring solutions.
- Experience using modern AI assisted development tools (for example, IDE assistants, chat based coding agents, or AI augmented code review/testing tools) as part of your daily workflow, beyond simple code autocompletion, and are comfortable working in an AI integrated environment.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and contribute across multiple domains.
On-Call Requirement:
This position requires the employee to be on‑call outside of regular working hours. On‑call duties encompass:
- Responding to emergencies or incidents as they arise
- Providing prompt support and solutions
- Participating in on‑call rotations, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays
- Remaining reachable by phone or other communication methods at all times during on‑call periods
