The Cross Border Data Clearance Compliance Lead provides support to the Risk organization with a focus on governance, control effectiveness, regulatory engagement, risk communications, and financial performance including resource management.
The Resource and Business Management team within the Risk CAO has strategic and operational responsibilities to support the Citi Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and the Independent Risk organization to achieve its priorities and liaise with Cross Border Data Clearance (CBDC) Team, Third Party Management, Finance, O&T, and all Risk CROs by managing resources, accountability, business and strategic planning and analysis, resilience, and overall business office management.
Cross Border Data Clearance Compliance Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who manages the Cross-Border Data Clearance and Data Privacy Compliance programs for Independent Risk Management (IRM). This role serves as the Privacy and Responsible Information Management Officer for IRM and is responsible for establishing internal strategies, policies, procedures, processes, and programs to prevent violations of law, rule, or regulation and design and deliver a risk management framework that maintains risk levels within the firm's risk appetite and protect the franchise.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Vice President (SVP) to manage and support the Cross-Border Data and Privacy programs for IRM.
his role requires an excellent understanding of Cross-Border and Privacy best practices, frameworks, and principles as well as excellent communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide, influence, and negotiate internally, often at a senior level.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the execution and monitoring of the Cross-Border Data Clearance and Data Privacy control programs across IRM. This role involves working with the Cross-Border Data Clearance team, the Privacy team, and Risk stakeholders to design and implement a scalable and efficient operating model aligned with policy requirements; optimizing processes for maximum effectiveness.
Develop and implement enhancements to IRM’s compliance strategy based on industry best practices and regulatory changes, collaborating cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders for effective implementation and leveraging influence and partnership to drive seamless delivery and achieve common goals.
Provide guidance and support to IRM on the interpretation and application of the Cross-Border Data Clearance and Data Privacy compliance policies and standards, ensuring consistent practices globally.
Ensure that Cross-Border Data Clearance and Data Privacy policies are comprehended, implemented, and executed consistently, in alignment with enterprise-wide standards and local regulations.
Risk Management & Mitigation: Proactively review and challenge execution quality, escalate risks promptly, and develop effective remediation strategies to mitigate potential issues.
Coordinate the timely and accurate completion of Privacy Impact Assessments and oversee the completion of Cross Border Data Clearances in line with Data Privacy Policy requirements.
Providing Senior-Level reporting on metrics and performance data analysis to identify trends that may indicate non-compliance and drive remediation of any gaps.
Leveraging data to conduct monitoring to identify potential privacy and records management risks and non-compliance issues and taking appropriate action.
Providing credible challenge of existing control environment across businesses and functions aligned with relevant privacy and records laws.
Monitoring adherence to Citi’s Compliance Risk Policies and measuring compliance risk through a robust control framework and ensuring that reviews are conducted consistently across IRM on a regular basis to confirm that controls identified are operating effectively.
Keeping abreast of regulatory changes, new regulations and internal policy changes in order to further identify new key risk areas.
Qualifications/Experience:
Substantial compliance, privacy or cross-border data experience.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical skills to assess privacy and cross-border risks and to develop mitigation strategies.
Strong strategic thinking and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders globally
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive.
Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented, organized.
Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging; both written and verbally.
Ability to work collaboratively with regional and global partners in other functional units; ability to navigate a complex organization; to influence and lead people across cultures at a senior level.
Risk management and compliance experience is preferred.
Familiar with AI tools to support delivery of objectives, including effective prompt writing, preferred.
