The Global FX and Cross-Border Solutions team is charged with leading the strategy, design, build, and commercialization of best-in-class flexible enterprise-wide FX, multicurrency settlement, and currency management solutions as we seek to meet the growing and increasingly diversified needs of clients moving funds around the world. In addition, this team is responsible for FX trading, operations, and drives specialized solutioning for these capabilities, in partnership with consumer, commercial, money-movement
What’s it all about?
The Director, FX Issuer Solutions, is a strategic and execution-focused leader within Visa’s Global FX and Cross-Border Solutions team. This role shapes and drives the strategic vision and roadmap for Visa’s FX capabilities for issuer clients, while ensuring effective development and execution of the new products and features. Blending strategic insight, analytical rigor, and operational excellence, the Director advances Visa’s global strategy in FX, collaborating across product, regional, and functional teams to meet evolving cross-border needs.
What we expect of you, day to day.
Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the strategic roadmap for issuer-focused FX capabilities, aligning with Visa’s global objectives and identifying growth opportunities.
- Conduct competitive assessments, market sizing, and business case development for new initiatives.
Product Strategy & Execution
- Manage the product lifecycle from strategy and requirements through product development, delivery, go-to-market, and ongoing optimization.
- Translate strategic direction into actionable roadmaps, feature definitions, and execution plans.
- Support innovation by assessing emerging technologies and implementing enhancements.
- Utilize data, issuer insights, and market trends to drive continuous product improvement.
Commercial Contribution & Market Intelligence
- Collaborate with regional teams to tailor strategies to local markets and issuer requirements.
- Track competitive dynamics, regulatory changes, and industry developments across FX, multicurrency, and cross-border payments to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide structured insights to influence product direction and leadership decision-making.
Issuer Engagement & Client Focus
- Work directly with issuer clients (consumer and commercial) to validate requirements, design solutions, and guide implementation.
- Maintain strong feedback loops to ensure solutions align with client expectations and market realities.
Governance & Performance Management
- Support business planning processes, contributing to annual and quarterly reviews and reporting.
- Maintain product dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics for FX initiatives.
- Ensure transparent and organized documentation of product decisions and processes.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a strong team culture anchored in collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Cross‑Functional Leadership & Execution
- Lead cross-functional workstreams and influence stakeholders across global and regional teams.
- Partner closely with Technology, Sales, Risk, Operations, and external partners to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.
- Promote operational excellence, accountability, and consistent execution across product initiatives.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
- Demonstrated leadership in complex cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization, with a consulting mindset.
- Proven ability to deliver and optimize products in global or regional contexts.
- Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, especially issuer needs, FX mechanics, and cross-border flows.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Experience collaborating across global teams in a multinational environment.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: Travel up to 20% (regional and global).
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 192,300 to 307,600 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
