- A minimum of 5 years of relevant analytical experience, preferably with a financial institution in a credit role.
- Knowledge of securitisation is preferred, but experience in asset finance, project finance or other related fields will be strongly considered.
- Strong quantitative aptitude and ability to perform cash flow analysis using analytical tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis succinctly to both technical and non technical audiences.
- Ability to collaborate closely with others as well as work independently to produce accurate, detailed work in a customer service focused, dynamic environment.
- Previous experience writing research would be advantageous.
- Degree in finance, economics, applied mathematics or a related discipline.
- Performing credit analysis and assigning new ratings for a variety of Australian and New Zealand RMBS and ABS transactions. This includes asset and cash flow modelling, reviewing legal documents, presenting in credit committees, and conducting market dialogue around transaction credit analysis.
- Monitoring credit trends, macroeconomic developments and industry conditions.
- Undertaking special projects intended to enhance Moody's thought leadership in credit markets and operational efficiencies, including digital enablement projects where data analytics and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) are applied to deliver innovative solutions.
- Cultivating and managing relationships with securitisation issuers, investors and intermediaries.
- Authoring sector related research, including sector comments and sector outlooks, while balancing research and outreach responsibilities with daily transaction activity.
- Participating in presentations at conferences, attending industry events, and engaging in key stakeholder meetings.
Moody’s Structured Finance Group is responsible for assigning and monitoring credit ratings for securities backed by pools of residential mortgage loans, auto loans, and other asset classes. Our Sydney-based team is growing and is known for its close‑knit, collaborative, and collegiate culture.

We are seeking an energetic and collaborative Structured Finance Analyst to join our Sydney team. In this role, you will lead credit analysis and assign new ratings across a broad range of Australian and New Zealand securitisation transactions. You will also contribute to innovation, research, and thought leadership, while regularly engaging with issuers, intermediaries, and investors at senior levels.
