We are seeking a strategic, innovative, and highly skilled Director of Core Products to lead the end-to-end product strategy, roadmap, and performance of the Credit, Debit, Pre‑Paid, and New Products & Solutions portfolio across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). This role is central to Visa’s mission of driving consumer payments growth, accelerating product modernization, and expanding access to new payment solutions across the region.
The ideal candidate is a visionary product strategist with deep expertise in payments, a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to translate market needs into compelling, scalable product strategies. You will set the strategic direction for multiple product pillars, orchestrate cross-functional execution, and ensure the portfolio delivers measurable business impact aligned with Visa 2030 Strategy.
Responsibilities:
Product Leadership & Strategy
- Own the end-to-end product strategy for Credit, Debit, Pre‑Paid, and New Products & Solutions
- Develop and maintain a multi‑year product roadmap that advances Visa’s market position, drives portfolio performance, and aligns with regional and global priorities.
- Define product value propositions, segmentation strategies, pricing & economics frameworks, lifecycle plans, and competitive positioning.
- Integrate modernization initiatives across products.
Execution & Operational Excellence
- Translate strategy into clear, operational delivery plans, ensuring execution through PLM, GTM readiness, and cross-functional alignment.
- Oversee and continuously improve regional product governance, including prioritization frameworks, product readiness criteria, and launch processes.
Portfolio & Performance Management
- Own product-level P&Ls, ensuring accurate visibility into revenue, costs, margins, and drivers of business performance.
- Evaluate portfolio health using insights, market analytics, and performance KPIs to inform roadmap adjustments and optimization decisions.
Market Engagement & Expansion
- Develop tailored go-to-market strategies, ensuring alignment with client needs, regulatory contexts, and market maturity.
- Lead cross-market reviews to identify opportunities for portfolio distribution, dormant portfolio activation, and new product adoption.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Technology, Client Services, Sales, Risk, Finance, Marketing, and Global Product teams to drive high-quality execution.
- Serve as the central owner of product strategy, ensuring teams across the organization are aligned and delivering against a unified vision.
Innovation & New Product Development
- Champion the design and commercialization of new product constructs for LAC.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, partnerships, and payment solutions that support Visa’s growth objectives.
- Ensure new product initiatives are grounded in robust business cases, P&L logic, and scalable execution plans.
Continuous Improvement & Foresight
- Stay ahead of evolving customer needs, regulatory trends, competitive shifts, and emerging technologies.
- Continuously refine product strategy and execution models to maintain market leadership and accelerate long-term growth.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
8+ years of product management experience (at least 5 years in payments and financial services).
Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
Proven track record of full lifecycle product ownership, including ideation, launch, and optimization.
Strong commercial acumen: experience managing P&L, setting business goals, and driving measurable outcomes.
Analytical mindset: skilled at using data and market analysis to inform decisions.
Cross-functional leadership: experience delivering results in matrix global organizations.
Excellent communication skills: able to influence stakeholders and clearly articulate product vision, requirements, and results.
Languages: fluent in English and Spanish. Portuguese is a strong plus.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 160,100.00 to 256,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
