The Transaction Management (TM) team plays a critical role in supporting multiple aspects of the lending lifecycle. This includes, but is not limited to, loan closing and servicing coordination, collateral management, facilitating complex client onboarding, comprehensive data management, and stringent quality control. The team is ultimately accountable for the operational oversight of the closing and servicing of all loan transactions within its supported business divisions, ensuring strict adherence to both internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
The Transaction Manager will be a key contributor, responsible for leveraging extensive experience to support and optimize multiple aspects of the lending lifecycle, with a specific focus on large complex syndicated and bilateral transactions for the CEE cluster. This role involves active participation in loan closing and servicing coordination, complex client onboarding, data management, and quality control. The Senior Transaction Manager will act as a principal operational lead, ensuring excellence in the closing and servicing of all loan transactions within the supported business division, adhering to all internal and external requirements. This role is not managerial in a direct people management sense but requires significant influence, mentorship, and knowledge sharing across the team and various countries.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior subject matter expert for loan origination and lifecycle management of large, complex syndicated and bilateral loans, including but not limited to corporate, commercial, real estate, structured lending, and trade, specifically for the CEE cluster
- Proactively share advanced knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions with team members across various countries, fostering a culture of continuous learning and standardization without direct managerial oversight
- Drive the creation, refinement, and implementation of robust processes, standards, procedures, controls, and training materials for the transaction management function within the CEE cluster, ensuring a standardized and efficient approach
- Leverage broad systems and process knowledge to design, implement, and test technology solutions, including testing and rollout, to enhance operational capabilities
- Collaborate with originating and coverage business lines, credit risk, operations, and legal teams to align transaction management with the overall vision
- Maintain rigorous quality control over data, processes, and controls, ensuring strict adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with diverse lines of business, transaction management, and loan operations to define and implement operational metrics, risk, and control frameworks, providing end-to-end transparency to all stakeholders
- Continuously identify opportunities and lead initiatives to improve processes, controls, and efficiencies across the entire loan lifecycle, from front to back, utilizing deep expertise
- Support and lead projects aimed at enhancing performance and operational efficiency
- Actively manage and maintain a deal closing pipeline of loan transactions in the portfolio, ensuring smooth execution
- Perform all standard end-to-end Transaction Management processes, including coordinating and closing loan transactions/lifecycle events, capturing accurate data, ensuring proper documentation, troubleshooting issues/roadblocks, and conducting quality control
Ideal background:
- 6-10+ years of extensive experience in transaction management or a related field, with a proven track record in handling large, complex syndicated and bilateral loans
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Demonstrated expertise as a subject matter expert in wholesale loan products, business processes, and related systems
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and mentor without direct authority
- Proven ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and execute tasks with minimal supervision
- High proficiency in quantitative skills, including advanced Excel and other Microsoft-based programs; Tableau or other visualization tool familiarity preferred
- Deep analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying, escalating, and proposing effective solutions to complex issues
- Comprehensive understanding of corporate and regulatory policies related to Lending
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities frequently shift
- Bachelor's/University degree required; Master's degree preferred
