Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building scalable backend services
- Experience developing REST APIs and GraphQL endpoints used by distributed applications
- Hands-on experience with Angular for building responsive, user-centric interfaces
- Working knowledge of Node.js for backend or middleware development
- Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for deploying and maintaining cloud-based applications
- Ability to collaborate in an agile environment, participate in code reviews, and follow engineering best practices
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and optimize REST and GraphQL APIs to support various product features
- Develop intuitive and responsive UI components using Angular
- Implement reusable components and services in Node.js where appropriate
- Manage database schemas, queries, and performance across PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications in AWS environments
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to coding standards, and support continuous improvement efforts
About the Team
Our Ratings Technology team is responsible for building and supporting the platforms, applications, and services that power Moody’s global ratings business & enable analysts to deliver high-quality, data-driven credit insights. By joining our team, you will contribute to modernizing core ratings systems, advancing cloud-native engineering practices, and leveraging AI-supported tools to improve workflow efficiency, data quality, and analytical capabilities
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $95,500.00 - $138,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
