The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and excited to grow their data engineering skill set in a complex business environment. This role offers hands-on experience across the full data lifecycle, from ingestion and transformation to modeling and analytics enablement. Remote work is allowed.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain data pipelines and datasets in alignment with team and enterprise standards, and contribute to the evolution of those standards under the guidance of senior team members
Support data governance practices by helping document data definitions, lineage, and usage, and by following established controls for data quality, access, and compliance
Partner with our IT organization to support and enhance the end-to-end automation of data pipelines, making datasets readily-consumable by visualization tools and notification systems
Collaborate with stakeholders across People & Places and other corporate functions to understand data requirements and analytics use cases
Support the development and evolution of people analytics data models under the guidance of senior data engineers
Perform data analysis and root cause investigations to help answer business questions and surface data issues or opportunities for improvement
Develop and maintain processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, and basic dependency management
Assist in building and maintaining dashboards by managing underlying data sources, validating data accuracy, and supporting performance and refresh reliability
Minimum Qualifications
8 years of experience working with data technologies, or equivalent experience through internships, academic projects, or other hands-on training
Foundational understanding of data warehousing concepts and analytical data modeling
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python) for data processing and analysis
Proficiency in SQL and experience querying relational databases
Working knowledge of non-relational databases (e.g., vector, document or key-value stores) and when to use them alongside analytical data warehouses
Experience integrating data from multiple sources, including files, databases, and APIs
Familiarity with data cleaning, transformation, and validation techniques
Exposure to business intelligence or data visualization tools (such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners and explain data-related concepts and decisions
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail when working with imperfect or messy data
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred)
Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
