The Senior Manager, Planning drives overall strategic initiatives for Supply Chain including inventory control strategies, advancement of supply chain planning capabilities for the organization, and optimizing team design to drive better efficiency and performance to support changing market dynamics. As member of the Extended Leadership Team, supports the overall site S&OP Process by managing a diverse portfolio of improvement initiatives and strategies around risk management. The Senior Manager supports stakeholder management across senior levels of Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Global Supply Planning, Brand, Quality Assurance and Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for Supply Chain activities to maintain full product availability and to meet strategic and financial needs of each brand manufactured at the Branchburg site.
- Accountable for material planning and inventory and assurance of supply strategies for Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing Inventories valued above $100 million.
- Drive strategic initiatives for Supply Chain on the topics of inventory management, supply chain planning systems and processes, supply assurance strategies, and organizational team design, among others.
- Partner with Operations and Quality Control teams on overall planning processes. Lead rough cut capacity planning reviews with sites, identifying potential future capacity constraints, mitigating challenges, and elevating risks to senior leaders as needed.
- Develop, challenge, and coach a team of 5-10 team members including people leaders to achieve top performance and productivity. Identify high potential employees and support development plans. Drive the AbbVie culture across the team and create and sustain a positive environment displaying high levels of motivation and excellent team spirit.
- Achievement of key performance indicators, and act as owner of the Scheduling Index. Review performance against KPI’s, develop and implement corrective actions, and identify improvement opportunities to address performance issues.
- Manage and support Pipeline/New Product Introduction processes to ensure availability of product at the time of launch and meet strategic needs of each product.
- Own the Sales & Operations Planning process at the site; collaborate across value-stream stakeholders to ensure execution of plan and lead monthly business reviews with Senior Leadership Team.
- Explore innovative opportunities and implement continuous improvement projects, ensuring they are successfully achieved according to charter or supporting focus of core job responsibility within the teams.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with Operations, Quality, Procurement, Materials Management, Global Supply Planning, and Brand.
- Assure compliance with AbbVie quality, financial, and regulatory rules, policies, and procedures.
- Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Economics or Business Management or equivalent. MBA or higher education preferred
- APICS certification preferred
- At least 8-12 years’ experience in Operations, QA, Supply chain management and/ or Financial management, preferably in the healthcare or food industry.
- 3-5 years supervisory or people managerial experience in a production and/or distribution environment
- Well-developed interpersonal skills including strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders
- Proven project management skills, with a track record of leading cross functional projects with excellent results as well as with coaching project leads. A strong sense of urgency and the ability to deliver high quality work on a consistent basis in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strategic mindset and ability to think at an enterprise level. Experience in managing SC activities in various stages of a product life cycle
