Visa Payment Passkey (VPP) is seeking a Product Manager for Developer Experience as a member of Visa's Authentication and Identity Global Product team. In this role, you will focus on making VPP—leveraging FIDO, passkeys, and authentication technologies—easy and delightful for developers to integrate.
You will work across solutioning, certification processes, beta platforms, and developer integrations, translating technical capabilities into seamless developer experiences. The ideal candidate is someone who has a technical background with a strong business sense, and a passion for improving the intersection of the two within auhentication products. Harnessing a shared understanding of the frustrations of complex APIs, poor documentation, and lengthy integration cycles will position you for success in this role.
This role requires a unique blend of technical depth and product skills: the ability to author detailed requirements, partner directly with engineering teams, represent the team in client meetings to guide partners through integration processes, and advocate for developers throughout the product lifecycle. What You'll Do:
- Create a magical Developer Experience for Visa’s authentication products
- Drive developer-focused improvements across the VPP integration journey, from first API call to Production certification
- Author detailed product requirements for developer tools, APIs, SDKs, and platform features based on team and company objectives
- Contribute to certification process design that balances security requirements with developer efficiency and time-to-launch
- Support and integrate our authentication products on our production-ready beta platform to validate features, gather developer feedback, and identify issues early
- Work on solutioning initiatives that simplify integration patterns and reduce implementation complexity
- Partner directly with engineering teams to influence API design, tooling, and platform capabilities from a developer-first perspective
- Represent the team in client meetings to guide partners through integration processes and gather feedback
- Track and improve key developer experience metrics such as time-to-first-call, time-to-certification, and developer satisfaction
- Identify creative solutions and execute on iterative delivery in collaboration with engineering
- Proactively identify issues, determine resolutions, and communicate status to stakeholders
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Experience leading initiatives and acting as product owner in an agile environment
Ability to structure, manage, and coordinate complex workstreams and processes with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence successfully within a highly matrixed organization
Hands-on experience building, launching, and using APIs, developer portals, developer documentation, sandbox experiences, SDKs in eCommerce and payments with a track record of business impact at scale
Strong knowledge of API technologies and tools such as RESTful, Postman, Swagger, Github
Proven track record partnering with engineers and architects to design consistent and easy to integrate APIs that power business critical processes at scale, under high peak load, and with minimal latency
Strong passion for optimizing developer experiences and high empathy for the developer community
Extreme attention to detail
Ability to fully understand technical architecture, APIs and overall system design
Working well within a heavily matrixed organizations, multi-national experience is a plus
Ability to use data to prove or disprove hypotheses and inform the product roadmap
Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills to confidently interact with stakeholders at all levels
Subject matter expertise in payments and/or ecommerce processing, with relevant experience in product and feature delivery.
Demonstrated knowledge in identity and access management, including varied authentication protocols (OAuth, OpenID, FIDO2, etc.)
Possess a unique combination of product expertise, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and comfortable with rapid changes.
Team oriented, collaborative, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities.
Detail oriented and highly execution focused by working in conjunction with various counterparts across multiple functional groups.
Demonstrated thought leadership and aptitude to think creatively to identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results.
Fluency in PowerPoint, Excel and JIRA/JIRA Align Experience.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 146,200.00 to 233,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
