The position is within the Supplier Engagement function of the Global Payables Finance business. This person will be responsible for managing Supplier Engagement function for the North America cluster. This role will be responsible for the development of Marketing plans, Supplier retention, Supplier Satisfaction, strategies, and tactics while coordinating supplier conversion through various mandates of Supplier Financing across the globe in coordination with the broader Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products and to develop new markets, increase share of market and obtain and retain competitive position as number one service provider in the market. The incumbent will be managing a team of 15-20 Supplier Engagement Managers He/She is responsible for developing successful supplier acquisition sales programs for the Citi Supplier Finance (CSF) product which provides working capital and cash flow benefits to our Buyer/clients and their suppliers. This role offers a mix of Sales and managing Key Relationships and will coordinate and execute onboarding strategy for Payables product. This is a front office client facing role which involves speaking with Treasury/Finance Directors at supplier organizations to sell the Payables product offerings. Additionally, key responsibilities will include day to day interactions with clients to a) identify new opportunities and monitor current performance, b) coordinate implementation of existing mandates, c) agree on onboarding strategy d) Explore and execute on Cross Sell Opportunities. The Candidate will need to liaise with functional partners for successful delivery of the product e.g. a) Legal for Document Negotiation for Strategic suppliers b) Credit c) Risk d) Compliance e) Tax f) Operations etc.

As a regional head, the incumbent is :
Managing large team of Supplier Engagement Managers for NAM cluster that is responsible for end-to-end supplier on-boarding activities for global and pan-region deals
Responsible to drive cross- sell of Embedded Fx, Purchase Order Financing, Deep Tier and Dynamic Discounting to key suppliers.
Be a thought leader, spearheading Supplier engagement and acquisition in the region
Plugs into the Fintech space in NAM and finds the right partners complementing Citi’s strengths
Leading the data analytics initiatives for the Integrated Payables
Leading the delivery of global initiative like PO financing, project Nirvana, Dynamic Discounting, Deep Tier Financing etc.
Oversight of NAM Supplier Engagement Managers and Third-Party Vendor Resources
Third Party Management -compliance, contract renewals, Monthly Business Reviews
Monitoring Revenue and TAT targets for NAM Supplier Engagement and Onboarding
Review and submit approvals for Salesforce, DocuSign and system access
Signing authority for NAM Supplier related documentation
Responsible for onboarding and offboarding of resources
Overall responsible for the new supplier acquisition targets and score card for the region
Provide senior supplier engagement support on large region/ global mandates
Drive the commercialization of digital strategy including tools such as Trade Onboarding System
Comply with Internal Controls and Risk Monitoring
Coordinate with Senior country/ regional Sales, Relationship Managers, Product, Implementation, Operations and Service teams to ensure seamless Supplier engagement and onboarding
Launches initiatives and projects in the region that simplify and streamline supplier onboarding
Define and expand Business development for Trade SCF Suppliers
Define and execute a joint marketing plan in close coordination with Trade Sales for expanding business with Suppliers
Outline and implement digital marketing, webinars, industry forums, through leadership articles for outreach to new potential clients with the Supply Chain ecosystem
Thought leader spearheading digitisation exercise across region
Sales and relationship background as going forward our focus is relationship driven approach with suppliers
Managing team directly regionally, simultaneously learning and implementing global best practices in the region
Reporting to Global head of Supplier Engagement
Responsibilities:
Manage multiple teams within a country, group of countries, and region, including management of people, budget, and planning as well as manage a matrixed team across key internal areas with direct/indirect reports (e.g., risk, finance, decision management, marketing, operations)
Negotiate and make decisions on issues/activities having critical impact/influence on company revenues, capital, or business operations
Utilize specialty knowledge to review, analyse, and develop beyond existing solutions
Develop plans and execute functional strategies for large/complex country, multiple countries, or business requiring coordination and integration across units, as well as provide input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within region/business
Ensure solid partnerships and cross selling opportunities across range of products such as banking products, cash management, foreign exchange, credit, capital markets, and wealth management to deliver comprehensive services and solutions for clients
Establish and maintain relationships with risk, business risk, compliance, and other relevant groups within Citi, as well as develop and ensure execution of the business strategy, and manage risk and compliance
Partner with other global, regional, and country leaders to share best practices and drive business strategies, solutions, and client centric solutions to differentiate Citi in the marketplace and achieve substantial growth targets for the business
Engage in internal and external negotiations
Attract, motivate, develop, and retain executive talent
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards
Qualifications:
15+ years of relevant experience in Trade / Transaction Services
8-10+ years of managerial experience
Experience managing across multi-functions or global business
Experience managing in a large, complex and matrixed organization
Knowledge of risk management including credit risk
Experience of driving large transformation initiatives across multiple regions
Experience of process mapping, process improvement and digital transformation
Experience of navigating Citi requirements to obtain NPAC, SIRR, GDR and other required approvals for Business initiatives
Knowledge of International Trade and competitor products/services
Knowledge of strategic direction of the business and functions across regions combined with solid conceptual/practical grounding in function and/or area of expertise
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Demonstrated internal and external negotiation skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master’s degree preferred
